In an effort to do something with the very large pile of mostly finished songs that I have written, I’m going to start by making demos of the songs I’ve written so far in my weekly songwriting group. We have a prompt + an hour to write a song each week, and the first song I wrote was with the prompt “four poster bed” - here you go! :)

I’m stuck in place
Thinking of all the things I said 
That I can’t erase
Alone in this four poster bed 

I am far gone
But I can’t seem to get away 
Too aware that there is 
So much left to say 

My body feels small 
And my heart feels big 
How did I end up 
Again like this 

Where did the time go 
I’m spinning round
I see four corners 
Give me one path out

Pulling at sheets
Rewatching scenes they will not leave
Was it then or now
It’s all jumbled up inside of me 

I see the door
It calls me but I cannot hear
I am metamorphosis
You’ll see me when things get clear

Four Poster Bed (demo)

I was talking to the piano again,
I'm not so professional when I play one,
The story behind this song would need cameramen,
I play these strange songs until they feel done,
I am taught by no one, 
Not even by a video,
This was fun to make a real recording, though.

I sincerely take my time and let my heart spill some sort of feeling I can't grasp,
Something I can't get my hands around and clasp,
It makes me gasp...

I love these feelings, 
So quaint like glass,
Not taught to me in any class,
My eyes shut with my hands reaching for  meanings...

It's indescribable,
Sounds incredible,
Still a bit palpable,
Yet curious and perfectly questionable.

Anyways,
It's time to part ways,
I hope you enjoy as always,
And make sure to enjoy your days.
