Two brothers, Lukas and Matas, are back again. We are falling in love with this super talented duo of Lithuanians based in Copenhagen, Denmark. 

So what's the first thing you do when you find yourself on a Deserted Island? You lose your pants! The second thing you do is ask yourself, where on Earth is this deserted island? Judging by the sounds, it could be in the Indian Ocean. Or is it the Levantine Sea? Beats us. 

The sun is burning the brain cells, and we have to hide in the shade. Oh, look! A big white stone to start writing that S.O.S. signal.

For the second release on Subject To Restrictions Discs' White Series, Los Pashminas from Fribourg deliver a four-track sound experience for dance floors.
The complexity of the human experience has led to many theories, which tried to explain the emotional activity of our everyday experiences. In the ’60s Paul MacLean formulated the 'Triune Brain' model. This theory proposes a very simplistic organisation of our brain, which would be too easy to accept since the very notion of 'change' is difficult to give credence to. The wiring between our primary and emotional behaviour is much more complex and subject to plasticity and transformations. What if the very essence of music could follow the same path? Maybe music could take conscience of its own environment and develop its own wave, independently from the human will.
This EP is an essay in which symbolic samples are organising themselves into the genesis of a new form of conscience, a result of a survival-mode experience that pushes the music itself to create its new form. This sound journey was created during the 2020 Pandemic.

PREMIERE | Los Pashminas - Chameleon Brain Dance [Subject To Restrictions Discs]  2022

After traveling to Central America BELLY DANCE SERVICES (@bellydanceservices) continues their journey further south: The fifteenth release of the Austro Turkish label is called TZANTZA. A genius joint venture between RANDOM ATLAS (@randomatlas) from Santiago de Chile and MARZIAN (@marzianmusic) from Buenos Aires. The EP features saxophone player JOSÉ PEDRO CÓRDOVA as well as remixers CORNELIUS DOCTOR and OBERST & BUCHNER!

EP name giver TZANTZA is an epic piece of story telling filled with lively percussions, charming saxophone play and a captivating baseline. If this track were a movie it would be the latino version of Stranger Things directed by David Lynch.

The remix of TZANTZA comes from one of Viennas finest couples: OBERST & BUCHNER. Currently working on their album the co-heads of HEIMLICH MUSIC carved out a crunchy synthi stomper that brings extra pleasure to every room.

With their second original track BARRICADA the admirable trio from South America again proves their willingness to tear down barriers between traditional disciplines of electronic dance music. Therefore they simply just had to also give birth to a club version of this alluring obscurity.

At last french producer CORNELIUS DOCTOR added his unique touch to BARRICADA. The co-head of Lyons HARD FIST RECORDS checks in with a floor filler or no, let’s call it a fancy boredom killer!

Parisian electronic artist CHLOÉ and her Lumière Noire Records imprint explore new pastures in 2024, leaning into more club-focused sounds with an immersive new compilation series titled ‘Flash.’ Lumière Noire’s new VA collection welcomes a slew of international talent, providing a wave of experimental flavours with definitive underground gradients. ‘Flash Vol. 1’ plays host to four unique cuts, delivered by Danse Alice, Louen Poppé, Leonor & Fausto and Kike Am Radar.

Enigmatic duo Danse Alice’s ‘Dance On Your Grave’ (feat. Lucy) brings undeniably weird and wonderful energy from the outset, combining detuned analogue musicality, eerie vocals and undulating rhythmic cadence throughout. Louen Poppé’s ‘Mondor’ will be released as a single on the 15th March, to tease the VA. The track fuses retro synth stabs, rumbling modular textures, probing arps and haunting harmonies alongside a head-bobbing breakbeat foundation. 

The combination of Leonor & Fausto follows with ‘Monastic’ which blends robotic nuances, pumping drum grooves, cleverly modulated acid synth lines and glitchy sonics to carve out a sci-fi-inspired basement jam before Kike Am Radar rounds off the release with ‘It’s All Lies’, bringing subtly celestial-laced chugging, weighty house vibes full of nostalgic synthesiser layers and copious, reverberated soundscapes.

The White Chief project has been defined by her creator as the background character for self_sabotage deconstruction. Deeply inspired in early Industrial, Noise and Power Electronics taking, musically and conceptually some development model acts like Throbbing Gristle or Whitehouse, and certain complex lyrical compositions like could be some Fad Gadget tracks, Maria Barros, a colombian dj and producer known as Gatasanta delivers 5 dense, raw, noisey and dark cuts with the aesthetical connotation of the violent modern times, created among other analogical sounds with multiple Moog bass lines. This record includes also, two tracks from AMAS, Gatasanta's first live project with artist performer Ivana Ray Singh, both artists based in Barcelona. These two tracks appears on the EP as a tribute to the duo's early years of electronic production and performance tours around. All tracks has been produced 100% hardware and pressed on a 300 edition vinyl release.
