Upon the dome of stone, under the dome of sky
Glancing back for an instant, you leaned closer to the tree
Hands upon you knees and closed your eyes
To the sound of the wind
And it told you, in the language of lungs
The story of its birth
When, some nights ago, I had pulled you close
Your arms had opened to receive me, pushing air through the rusty window screen
And into the oaks
As we slept, it turned and tumbled into waves of invisible forms, over forests laden with the scent of moss
Further, past the city limits
Near deer, counting spots upon their back
Falling off slopes of limestone, tasting their chalk
The salt of the sea, the dreams of starfish
Watching the reflection of the moonrise, in the eye of a mountain lion
As you lay near the green mesquite, amid cactus roots, islands of sunflowers, in the spear grass

The Dome Of Stone

Red dirt of Oklahoma on my left and right, back roads through the Mesa driving on into the night, searching for a town named for the last Comanche chief. American flags on every corner, moving soundlessly in the winds of the darkness like a ghost. Crows outside my window call me to the door, sunrise on the railway line sleeping on the floor. I was looking for myself, met the mayor on the way; he shook my hand with steel blue eyes, and I heard him say: Good to meet you, this must be your first time around. And he left me standing, lost at the crossroads without a crown. Blue sky harbinger I can’t tell you how I feel, the lines she read up upon my hand never turned the wheel. There are 14 empty temples on the same side of the face of the avatar of loneliness who beckons us to pray in the winds of the darkness like a ghost. Every journey that I take must come to an end, but for now I’ll move as long and as free as I can. The blood of my fathers has dried upon the plains with the warrior of the tribes, I hear them call my name. Good to see you, this must be your first time around, and they left me standing, lost at the crossroads without a crown.

Watermelon Sky - Tucker Livingston

Tucker Livingston is a singer-songwriter and guitarist born in 1974 in Texas.

​He has been a featured artist at The Austin City Limits Music Festival, SXSW Music Festival, Kerrville Folk Festival and Voice of America.  In the spring of 2003, Tucker won the Austin Music Foundation's Incubator program grant, which provides artists guidance to create, market and release a recorded work.
​
The recording was done at Viewpoint Studio outside of Austin, Texas and was produced by Mitch Watkins and engineered by Jim Vollentine. 
​
It received critical aclaim, and along with TV and Radio airplay reached the 6th most downloaded folk album on iTunes folk music charts for one month. Soon after the record release, Ballet Austin's national award winning choreographer and dancer Gina Patterson  created a work "No Defense" for Austin's 2004 Winter Ballet "3x3" to Tucker's music in four sold-out performances at the Paramount Theater. Tucker appeared along side the like of Grammy Award winner Sean Colvin and Grupo Fantasma.

Tucker's songs have now been featured in the film Maturing Youth, directed by award-winning director Chase Michael Pallante.

Livingston has been a member of Texas music director Neal Casinov’s Groundworks Music Orchestra, a non-profit musical group that guides children in exploring music, instruments and new musical concepts, once described as the “Wilco of children’s music groups.”

Along with pursuing his solo career, he has collaborated and toured for 15 years with his musician father, Bob Livingston, traveling throughout Asia, Africa and the Middle East on grants from the U.S. Government to act as an official United States Ambassador of American music. Tucker is also a member of his father’s Texas Commission of the arts multiply awarded music group “Cowboys and Indians”, and interactive show for children and adults fusing Native American and contemporary American music and folklore with East Indian music and dance.

Although no longer touring or performing live in the United States, Tucker Livingston opted to settle abroad, continuing to write and record music for a new record to be released online.
