"Swerwer" is an African word that means wanderer. 
And mind-wandering is a spontaneous shifting of attention of thoughts from a primary task that can happen in varying degrees. It is an unintentional and unrelated shift that occurs where the mind tends to regale in varied thoughts which can disrupt the ongoing task performance. While recording this set, I felt that every element of every track was taking me to another level of subconsciousness, distracting me from the crazy world around me and giving my soul an hour of relief.

I chose 639Hz because her mom had a synchicity when she asked me out of all the frequencies what would be best (she woke up randomly the following day at 6:39am!)

Pete Oak returns to SVT with a three piece EP chock full of murky melodies and introspective compositions. Kicking off the endeavor with Celsius, Oak reveals his penchant for soulful and emotive soundscapes early on. The first track unfolds as a slow paced ascending piece, ridden with scintillating bits and synths subtly winding up the entire groove. The outcome is a tense dancefloor cut with a spectral, ethereal appeal. Noctua takes off full energy from the get go, setting a gloomy mood by layering dense synths over a punchy bassline. Heavy distortion follows the break off, offering a striking release that goes to a full dramatic stop.

Similarly dynamic, yet with a completely different take on the up-tempo groove, Yama plays on assorted arrays of synths. Evoking a stirring atmosphere through timely crafted symmetries, it offers up a fitting, unwinding final track for the EP.

Once in a while you find an artist thats far from the norm and anything else you heard before but so good and intimate that it instantly grabs you. As so with fryhide's latest signing. Montreal based Singer and Songwriter Groj delivers the 10th release on HOSH's fryhide imprint. 

It's Dance but it certainly offers another emotional dimension to it. Groj adds: "The music came very fluently, I felt i explored boundaries and set a new standard for myself." We can definitly agree to that. HOSH himself offers a more floor pleasing version of the title track.

With 2018 as a dazzling year for both Hollt and Sandeep, the two friends team up again to combine their love for the melodic and deep. ‘Above Distance’ is the second collaboration between the DJ/producers featuring two tracks that compliment each other, whilst individually aimed at different moments during the night.

The release kicks off with ‘Above', a euphoric track designed for prime-time moments. The track’s groovy, yet sturdy start is followed by a compelling melody, after which the actual theme becomes apparent when the slightly darker bass line brings a new energy to the fold. Mid-track the energy unleashes full force, surely bringing the listener in a euphoric state of mind.

‘Distance’ is a warm, and laid back track that builds on an open atmosphere, where strings and solid drums are laying the foundation. The different layers of melody and a dark, yet compelling bassline are building, leading up to a characteristic break that evolves to a atmospheric climax. It’s a track heavily influenced by the long and deep sets both Hollt and Sandeep play in clubs like Toffler and Basis.

Hollt & Sandeep’s ‘Above Distance’ will be released on January 21st, 2019.
