I created a typical BBC 70s science fiction children's TV show sound with very British Stack sounding electric guitars with nice long reverb and then bolted on electronic drums, bass and pads. Still used the full BBCSO Discover strings section for richness.

An effort to compose with a nod to Native American culture in a way that is hopefully respectful and avoids musical stereotypes of Native American music while adhering to most idiomatic styles. (Feedback welcome from specialists in this area)

Indigenous Odyssey

A theme composed some years ago for an online 'play-by-email' game for fans of Star Trek. An earlier version of the theme is also here on SoundCloud. (This version makes slightly more use of orchestral instruments and less electronica.) Players joining the cohort would submit a fully realised description of their character and then have the opportunity to introduce their character by writing passages into the narrative of the story arc agreed upon by the team. The success of the game relied upon each player carefully reading the submissions of other players and contributing appropriate actions. Where two characters met and interacted, a joint post could be written by two players for their characters.

USS Sirius - Main Theme (online role-playing game)

Some preliminary ideas for thematic material for a recent Scottish short film made entirely in Aberdeenshire by local talent. At the date of upload, editing is coming to a conclusion and the final assembly cut should be available soon for special effects, sound design and scoring to begin.

The four distinct pieces you hear are: the Main Theme, Montage music, 'Will's Arrival' (version 1), and 'Will's Arrival' (version 2).

'Shoulder Deep' first thematic ideas

An unused theme for a script featuring legends of 'Selkie's' from Scottish folklore. Seal-like creatures that come from the sea, have the ability to shed their seal skin and come onto dry land in human form.

A lively piece outlining the excitement and curiosity of a seasoned traveller to exotic locations any where in the world. On the water, in the mountains, through the jungles, across the desert plains.

The first complete draft of this piece. Now comes some trimming and re-orchestration when I've stepped away from it for a while.
