After the huge crossover success of the original back in 2006, the artist formerly known as Joey Negro, Dave Lee has reworked one of the biggest tracks of his career into an original Disco anthem. Keeping the peak time energy up but injecting more Chic-esque Funk than you can shake your rump to, there was only ever one person who could elevate the original into a modern disco classic. Love Attack Records owner Alan Dixon joins forces with Homoelectric resident Will Tramp for the gospel house Glitterbox release ‘Sunday Stomper’. Over the past two decades, the two DJs and producers have established themselves as respected nightlife experts; Alan for his longstanding residency at Savage, London in addition to appearances at CircoLoco and The Warehouse Project, while Will’s Mancunian club experience Tramp! was host to a plethora of huge names in the industry such as Kraftwerk’s Wolfgang Fur, Chromeo and Justice. 

Alan’s usual synth-led sound makes way for a piano-driven hi-octane vibe, fusing with Tramp’s disco sensibilities for ‘Sunday Stomper’, a high energy floorfiller featuring euphoric, sermon-like vocals. The Piano Preacher Mix brings the melody and live instruments to the fore, while the Do It Right Dub builds over time using heavy vocal manipulation.

@late-nite-tuff-guy is one of the legends of the modern disco scene and indeed one of the artists who helped set the scene back in motion over the last 15 years. Having delivered a multitude of sure-fire edits over the years we always keep a keen eye out for his latest releases.

His latest outing see's him go to work on a previously unreleased Silk track Somethin' 'Bout the way which was recently rediscovered and dates back to their 70's heyday, so something of a holy grail release.

As you might expect from one of Philly International's finest this one is really special from the euphoric pianos to the immense vocal. The 1970's loss is definitely our gain in 2023. 

Released via the excellent @asandbees and as always with the label 50% of the profits from this release will be donated towards the British Beekeepers Association.

"Studio 99" started as the brainchild of Delpretti from Venezuela. Delpretti and I (GRAYMATTER) have collaborated in the past and I am consistently impressed with his ability to expand his creative reach to every house genre. The idea for "Studio 99" was to create a fun summertime, disco track that would pay homage to the height of the disco era. After Delpretti sent me the start of the track, I felt like I wanted to add something new and fresh and the best way to do that was to find a vocalist that would fit the vibe. Gaby Borromeo saw me DJ a set as a part of Seattle's "Yuri's Night," a night of dancing and fun inside Seattle's Museum of Flight (hosted by Noise Complaint), and she hit me up to tell me about her wonderful experience! After checking out her page, I discovered what a talented vocalist she was and how she would be perfect for "Studio 99". Chatting for a few months, we met up at my studio and recorded not only her, but her boyfriend, as well, and I couldn't believe the gem I had just found! Flash forward to today, Gaby and I are good friends and plan on working on plenty more material for the future! "Studio 99" is a collaboration between three artists, diving into a genre that they never expected to make, but are all proud of and excited for everyone to hear!
