Cymbals was an important  Japanese band in the sub-genre of J pop known as  'shibuya-kei'. Cymbals (and other bands in the Shibuya-kei era) were known for their eclectic mixture of music from Latin, to 60's London pop/rock and influences like  Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys and composer Burt Bacharach.  This  Cymbals cover we play this week is a perfect example of that sound.  I am honored to again collaborate with Mio Koseki on vocals. This is a re-upload featuring our old friend Nahmida on vocals this time This song is a personal favorite of  The 'Shiboya Keys but not a fan-favorite.   Hopefully this time it will get a little more traction. It is inspired by a song by  singer k.d. lang called "Anywhere but Here" . We wanted to write a song like it and this is what came out .
