Planet E are proud to present ‘AW18 Collection’, a 3 track EP from British producer Tom Flynn due September 14th. Drawing upon a broad and learned musical understanding, ‘AW18 Collection’ fuses disparate strands from the worlds of fashion, club culture and sound design to forge a highly atmospheric, singular release.

‘Packard’, the title of which is inspired by parties in the historic Detroit power plant of the same name, establishes an unrelenting energy from the get go. A bouncing kick lays the foundations for rolling synths, unnerving vocal samples and delicate piano refrains to wander. ‘Anna’ is an indulgent nod to the catwalk, marching with intent amidst immersive chords and subtle melodies.

The B side hosts a trippy cut full of interplanetary glitches and melancholic harmonies. Drawing upon hints to the extraterrestrial, ‘Marx’ creates a dizzying swirl with glistening textures.

Carl Craig was sold straight away: “When Tom sent me his demo of ‘Packard’ I knew I wanted to release it on Planet E. The mix of looped electronics with soul of the piano brought me back to when I first heard the post-Disco classic ‘Beyond the Clouds’. I can imagine the kids on The Scene rockin' hard to this.“

Celebrating 22 years of Josh Wink's cult acid classic "Sixth Sense" they've invited old friend Shlomi Aber and a bonafide Master At Work, Louie Vega for a set of remarkable updates. Celebrating his first Ovum appearance, Louie takes the lead with a whole menu of mixes that provide total mix creativity. The lead mix hits with that essential New York swing. Stripped back to its naked form, the drums bump your hips and shoulders into submission while a rubber ball bassline and Ursula Ruckers signature spoken word lock you down. A complete flip on the paranoid, pacey original, it's Louie Vega at his very best and most dancefloor-focused. 

Vega's remixes are joined by two equally alluring twists from long-time mate Shlomi Aber. His first is a pumping, uptempo techno twist that nods to the original while his Hidden In The Dark offers a much darker twist. Bare to the broken beat bones, it's a trippy escapade into much shadier corners of Shlomi's sound. Restrained, tense and cavernous; perfect for Ursulas vocal to totally hypnotise and pull us back down to earth. Extra sensory business this summer, these aren't remixes ---  they're whole new chapters.

The collective comprising of Baby Nova, Das Bee and Kyle OBR has taken the Cape Town electronic scene by storm, having played at some of the Mother City's most notable festivals and venues. Their ability to curate numerous electronic genres, ranging from soft South African House to bouncy, glitchy Euro breakbeat, will have any dance floor buzzing at any given time and place. With live music being a focal point for the group, their incorporation of guitar, synthesizers and percussion create nothing short of an experience. What's next for the trio?
