This beautiful bluesy ballad was written in 1946 by Buddy Johnson and was originally sung by his sister, Ella Johnson. 
Over the years, it has been covered by Nina Simone, Dinah Washington, Dr. John,  Al Jarreau and me, Sparkles,  to name a few.

Since I Fell For You

You Go To My Head is a timeless classic, written in 1938 by J. Fred Coots with lyrics by Haven Gillespie. 

There are so many beautiful versions of this song, with Billie Holiday's rendition being my favourite.

On this rendition, I am accompanied by the extremely accomplished guitarist Dominic Ashworth. 

It's worth pointing out that the instrumental recording was made from a gig where I  was a guest singer. There was no rehearsal. Just one take. Dominic is truly virtuoso. 

I later went to Elsden Studios to overdub the vocals with the lovely Greg Dowling.
