An artist on an impressive run of form, Marco Briguglia’s release catalogue is beginning to feature more and more renowned imprints - including our own. His latest work comes ripe and ready for the dancefloor, enlisting longtime Tech House aficionado Vincenzo D’Amico to put the finishing touches on his BSM debut with a standout remix. 

‘Clara’ extraordinarily opens the EP. Not your typical roller, its groove-focused momentum is bolstered heavily by a gripping array of electro-inspired harmonies. A mix of digital and analogue frequencies add an unparalleled quirkiness and memorability to the track, making it a head-turner for the height of any DJ performance. 

Vincenzo D’Amico follows with his remix of the title track, bringing terrace-geared energy and a deeper feel to its predecessor. A prominent rhythmic and certainly catchy bassline steals your attention from the very start, whilst an intricate web of percussive programming ushers you along - swaying along to the track’s unrelenting and subtly melodic tide. 

The release comes to a close on ‘Tasty’, a track with an alluring contrast. In places, you can find light and rising soft synths accompanied by gentle cadence; in others, a grittier full-bodied chorus of hearty elements that inspire frenzied dancing and twisted facial expressions. Among its many twists and turns, it never loses its unwavering intrigue - keeping you right where you need to be at all times.

Colombian talent Juan Dragster prepares to launch an impressive four-track release on Portugal’s Unnamed & Unknow imprint - Fanta EP

Medellin based artist Juan Dragster returns to Unnamed & Unknown following several impressive appearances on the label. Backing up emphatic offerings on NoZzo Music, Kubbo Records and more, he is back with four freshly squeezed dancefloor jams as he makes his full solo debut. 

Kicking things off, ‘Sex Meeting’ is a steady groover. Rhythmic sub-bass meets sturdy drum work, delicate percussion, swirling builds and bright synth tones to carve out a vibe-building opener. 

‘Fanta’ comes next, turning up the heat with racy hat grooves and driving drums. A rippling ensemble of instrumental factors fill out a weighty Tech vibe from the outset whilst the track passes through stripped-back peaks and troughs - loaded with heavy bass notes, fills and shots, adding character to the mix.

‘Grooveboy’ keeps the energy at a premium, delivering more upbeat danceability. Heavyset kicks and fizzing percs drive the track forward alongside a roaring sub-bassline, intercepted by glitchy samples and howling vox layers from end to end. 

‘Da Groover’ rounds the release off in ample fashion, delivering a blistering terrace-ready template. Pumping drums collide with endless percussive sequences whilst a bouncing bassline rides along below, accompanied by a soulful vocal lead and gritty acid synth lines throughout.

Returning in time for what is the first 'normal' summer for many of us, Tomi & Kesh's NoZzo Music imprint follows an impressive release from the label heads with the latest instalment from their always entertaining 'The NoZzo's' compilation series.

Opening the release, DJ Entwan's percussive-focused roller 'Back Again' brings the terrace vibes with potent low-frequency drive and subtly rising melodies. Franz Costa's 'Proper Propaganda' has a spring in its step with stripped-back drums and
rumbling sub-bass cut that through a bed of crisp percussive layers and attention-grabbing vocal.

Gustaff's 'Persianikas' drives the release back into the realm of uptempo rolling Tech with more high-energy instrumental flair, bright melodies and sultry vocals from end to end whilst Horo's 'The Groovy' follows nicely with Jazz-laced flavours mixed into a gritty combination of racy rhythms and engaging musicality.

'Just Stop' sees Kristofferson deliver an elegantly dreamy cut with hearty drum grooves, rattling percussive momentum and reverberating hypnotic layers from the outset. Lautaro Bidegain follows with 'Dancers', combining swaying rhythms and rolling sub-bass alongside sensual vocals, waves of climactic builds and atmospheric suspense.

Mad&Meis' 'Vanguard' charms you with shuffling hats and fizzing shakers alongside an intriguing spoken vocal hook supplemented by bright synths, pads and tones that add a subtle summertime feel. Matt Arnold's 'Break It Down' features an impressive display of his increasingly-popular style of simplistic rolling Tech grooves complemented by catchy basslines and delicate melodies with cadent vocal chops and engaging elements from start to finish.

Nacho Scoppa's 'Hood Style' pumps the gas as we come towards the end of the release. Blistering rhythms and heavyset kick drums bounce off pulsating sub-bass whilst the track glides through peaks and troughs alongside vox chops, creative fills and instrumental flair. Shakti's 'Bounce' brings the release to a quintessentially groovy end, combining a prominent bassline with punchy drum work and endless layers of rippling percs. Beyond this, rising melodies and filtered vocals swirl away into several ultimately enjoyable and impactive drops.

Seeing if you’ve got the appetite for three house tracks pitching zippy 4x4 beats against congested rhythms, algorithms with hiccups and computer data looped into a lather, UK producer Copasetic tells you to open wide and get ‘Greedy’. Notable for a previous contribution to Clarisse’s volume five compilation with the Lucas MB collaboration ‘Bible Killin’, Copasetic won’t leave clubbers going hungry, kicking it to a host of labels serving up his finest ingredients. 
 
The title track piles its plate high and fills the channels with automated grooves, vocals trapped in the commotion, and programmed bumps, shuffles and bufferings. Haphazard on the surface, Copasetic arming himself with a stash of carefully aimed spanners to throw into the works, ‘Greedy’ is essentially a funky deep houser buzzing about the place and coaxing you to get into the music by saying that if it can’t sit still, then neither should you.
 
Resist ‘Resist’?  Not with that slick bassline sliding across the dancefloor, getting windows wound down and loosening your limbs over six minutes. Soulful vocals are integrated into Copasetic’s canvas where the essentials are fractured and on full alert, while straight ahead beats maintain control and provide breathing space.
 
With a touch of Kid Crème funkiness to it, ‘Waste of Space’ shouldn’t be so harsh on itself, a third funky bop housing a hive of activity, characters involved in a dancefloor argument, and a feeling, which sums up the EP, of Copasetic being in charge of some sort of rhythm revolving door slash blender, turning awkward moments into melodic pirouettes, zigzags and overlaps. As Gordon Gekko may have once said, ‘Greedy is good”.
