I decided to take another stab at this song (went down a rabbit hole for about 10 hours and completely re-played and re-sang the song).  I struggled with the vocals on my original version so I changed the key to E which made it easier to sing.

In the planet of the ape’s movie in 1968
Astronauts crash landed on a planet that was in a sorry state
They stumbled across a society intelligent of apes who could speak
And there were humans, but they were mute and weak
They’d been asleep in their hibernation pods and 2006 years had elapsed

The Astronaut named Taylor, he got shot in the throat
He was unable to talk, so he got a pen and showed the apes what he wrote
The apes realized he was intelligent, and it shook them to their core
And the forbidden zone was a place they weren’t supposed to explore
Taylor met a girl he named Nova, she couldn’t talk but she was pretty.
A couple of apes helped them escape to what used to be New York city
And they rode together on a horse on a beach that looked like the west coast
Until they found that statue and realized humanity was toast

I 've been composing electronic music for more than 23 years but only started this new project 3 years ago, when the band in which I played bass splited.

 A large amount of the music I love was recorded in the 70's. Among these revered groups , Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Ange or King Crimson stand out. Over the years, I've also been very fond of many diverse bands and songwriters (The Doors; The Beatles; Bowie; Neil Young; Deep Purple; Led Zep; Patti Smith; U2; The Police; Massive Attack; Chemical Brothers; Killing Joke; Marillion; Morphine; Nirvana; The Young Gods; Dominique A; Noir Désir, Conil, Aurora ...). 
More related to my own synth music production, one could find influences from Vangelis, Jarre, Björk, Oldfield, Numan, Kraftwerk, Schultze and other pioneers. Finally, I should mention the great soundtrack composers such as Ennio Morricone, Wendy Carlos or Hans Zimmer.
Above all those great musicians stands the beloved statue of Ludwig van Beethoven, the visionary, the prodigy, the most sensitive man.

My desire is to be a tiny part of the admirable family of human composers and musicians in order to explore the infinity of musical combinations that our mind offers... To achieve this goal, I will continue to mix my own set of diverse influences in my own imperfect human way, without surrendering to any type of AI composer. My approach questions the astonishing way in which skills, sensitivity, aesthetic and personal history provide the fuel and oxygen for our creativity, while chance, curiosity and current feelings provide the spark. What matters the most is the process, not the result, the “product”. 
I often start my new pieces with a vague idea of the genre and mood I want to explore. Then, by playing with one of my synths, I let the sound impose its nature and call for other sounds it wants to play with.  My role as a composer is like that of a sailor acting on his rudder and his sails. I am neither the wind nor the sea and I have no map, but my instinct should allow me to avoid the reefs and I will eventually land somewhere, most likely a strange and unexpected place.
My pieces will always reflect the result of hundreds of micro-choices I made, consciously or unconsciously, that's what makes it fun, right?
