Come On, You Gotta Get It Done

When I sent @Rosindust a very first demo, the piece still didn't have a name. She asked me on WhatsApp "Ok, how do you want me to play it?" and I replied "Nervous, furious like... like.. Wait!" and I sent her a picture of Medusa from the famous painting by Caravaggio. :)
Actually this piece is a kind of playful revenge: her last piece she asked me to play had guitar parts that were difficult for me and when I recorded them I swore revenge to her with a fiendishly complicated piece for 2 violins :) But, as always, she was so brilliant! I still have a yellowbook...
somewhere in a kitchen drawer
and that plate over the connection
bout 1/2 a foot from the floor

but party lines and operators
have gone on to assisted living
and I fear my walk-about-fingers
have creased the fragile page
stuck on advertisements targetin the dead
who were alive in that age
yea...let me go on pissin'
cause that ain't all that's gone missing

and there's women and girls from the Indigenous Nations...but no one cares to listen
then the masks were slippin...worn by suits
claimin vision and wisdom
and now I'm wishin
for the yellowbook days

Instrumentation on this one is entirely baritone uke, harmonica (chromatic, not blues) and bass (& a bit of keyboard percussion here & there).  Gotta try that again sometime.  Track originally uploaded March 2020.

I hope, world, we've learned our lesson, and never let this happen to us again.

🤟🏼Working on new patterns and techniques in composition, production, and performance of both instrumental(classical/acoustic guitar) and voice- pieces are built (loops and beats)..on BandLab @nyla_k00  and Soundtrap (new)

I have removed the (amp) tag for consistency in distribution- acoustic pieces I perform will be tagged as ‘acoustic’ (apologies for page reorganization)

TBH, I aspire to be a guitar 🎸 but I’ll settle for being able to play competently what I hear when I write...(one day, Alice...to the moon)

I study under Duncan L. Wood and am grateful for his guidance and patience. Most of my influences are Folk/Blues/Indie, but inspiration arrives in many forms so HT to Hip Hop, Rap, Classical, especially Chamber trios. Current tracks are first cuts and I may update them in the future with cleaner versions, thank you for listening as I learn.
