This song started when as a vague idea Josh came up with while listening to Lionel Richie's All Night Long followed by Michael McDonald's song Sweet Freedom. He wanted to create a song that uses that same basic structure because those are both perfect pop songs in his opinion. He came up with a rough structure on his bass and piano before enlisting the help of his team of musical superheroes. 
  Ken was first up to bat, adding his magical drums and helping Josh find a groove on his bass. Ken later added the hand percussion that adds a spicy drive to the song, too. Next up was Mark, who added the funky clavinet throughout. Stephen threw down after Ken, adding some foundational guitar to the stew. He also added the awesome banjo you hear trickling throughout. Very shortly after, Tez came through with the trippy guitar solo at the end. JJ followed with the breathy organ that lifts the whole thing aloft.
  Now that we had a solid foundation to work with, Josh added the synth "horn" part in the middle, as well as the vocals, including the third harmony part in the choruses. JJ added the fifth harmony part in the choruses soon after. He also added the synth hooks throughout and synth solo at the end. Not stopping there, he also added the electric piano intro, with Ken's drums, and Stephen, who added the electric guitar in that part, as well.
  Now that the whole thing was in the can, it was time for a mix. One of our resident production experts, Stephen, did the honors, as well as the mastering. 
  This is an example of everyone in the Eclectic Collective adding just the right puzzle piece to form the bigger picture. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed making it.

■概要(Overview)
現在はピアノを練習しています。
今回も「これなら弾ける!!ジャズ・ピアノ」という本に載っていた、
北島直樹さんが編曲した「Fly me to the moon」にチャレンジしました。
まだまだ力が抜けていないし色々とミスっていますが、今日は満月が綺麗なのでこの曲をアップしますわv(^^)
もっと上手くなったら、再挑戦したいですわん(^^)

I am currently practicing the piano. 
This time, I challenged myself with Naoki Kitajima's arrangement of "Fly Me to the Moon" from the book "I Can Play This!! Jazz Piano". 
Although I'm still a bit tense and made some mistakes, 
I'm uploading this piece because the full moon is beautiful tonight. v(^^) 
I hope to try again when I get better. (^^)

This song began with Mark, who wanted to record an old skool classic Soul song, which he did, singing & playing all of the instrument parts on his own at first. But then, once he unleashed it onto the EC gang for their interpretation, they ran with it in a whole new, almost tropical direction, and it was decided to release 2 versions of the song - this one (the group remix), and the original Soul version which you can find on both Mark's & Stephen's page, as Stephen does double duty on guitar for both versions. 

Ken was first up with his vibrant interpretation of Mark's original drum track, which really helped define the verse & chorus sections. Josh was next up, replacing the bassline with a more upbeat bopping take. Once the rhythm section was in place, Stephen found the perfect guitar motif which served as both rhythm guitar, and the soulful lead that suited both versions of the song.

With a solid foundation on which to play, it was JJ's turn to shine, adding his slick, rhythmic and playful e. piano to the mix. Tez added his guitar magic to the mix, dropping ripping solo parts in the instrumental sections, and at the end. It was at this point that the decision was made to go with two versions, so Ken added some rhythmic percussion to the mix, and Mark also tested out his newly acquired VST steel drums to emphasize the slight Caribbean vibe that was emerging. With Mark doing mixing duties throughput the process on both versions, it was now time for Stephen to master it in his always expert way to finish it off.

This was a real team effort, even though it's really Mark's baby. The Eclectic Collective has many different methods of creating music. This one was a great exercise in trying to bring about Mark's vision. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed creating it.

🤟🏼Working on new patterns and techniques in composition, production, and performance of both instrumental(classical/acoustic guitar) and voice- pieces are built (loops and beats)..on BandLab @nyla_k00  and Soundtrap (new)

TBH, I aspire to be a guitar 🎸 but I’ll settle for being able to play competently what I hear when I write...(one day, Alice...to the moon)

I study under Duncan L. Wood and am grateful for his guidance and patience. Most of my influences are Folk/Blues/Indie, but inspiration arrives in many forms so HT to Hip Hop, Rap, Classical, especially Chamber trios. Current tracks are first cuts and I may update them in the future with cleaner versions, thank you for listening as I learn.
