Degas (Impressionist painter) chose his subject matter knowing the depravity in the  ballet as it was a well known brothel culture where patrons could expect compliance from any aspiring dancer in the late 1800's

Broken Needle

I got off the interstate
to cool my pony down yea
we been riding hard since I began this chase...headed for a desert town
feels like a wasteland...a place to leave
'fore it puts u in the ground
and I got all these horses
chompin at the bit
got a wild streak in my engines
clap of thunder in a lightnin cloud
and the crack of an angry whip...
do you see that ring of white
circling the eye...
of a desperate soul...yea
right before disaster
right before they grow cold
submissive lip accepts the final kiss
and can u hear my engines
all them wild horses

while I roam empty streets
driftin past a mezzanine
pulling up to the old gas station
in a town called Riverine
feels just like a wasteland
a place reluctant to be found
a place to leave 'fore it puts u in the ground
and  I stretched my legs in the pebbled lot
in the streets where time got lost
a warrior of the past...spell bound and imprisoned
this lone survivor of a recent curse

I once knew a Shawun ee girl...sweet and unassuming...woke up most nights
and I could hear her screaming
seemed to hide her secrets...in a smile
...her lovely smile
and I imagine her as a child...my friend of the 
Shawun ee ...her nature, like her smile
so mild...yea, that lovely smile
could haunt me down the road...
every hard fought mile
she swore she never knew
who hurt her in those dreams
the haunted nights...
the piercing screams
yea, back in September...I saw her last
but I believe she wasn't truthful with me
cause by November she'd been fruitful
smashed the one from her hurtful past
...but the cell in which they keep her
lays quiet every night...cause that girl
of the lovely smile
slay the demon caused all the screamin
so she could focus on other fights
cause this Shawun ee girl, sweet and 
unassuming...defeated her own damn demon...yea
ended that screaming, so she could go on and smile

🤟🏼Working on new patterns and techniques in composition, production, and performance of both instrumental(classical/acoustic guitar) and voice- pieces are built on BandLab @nyla_k00  and Soundtrap (new)

TBH, I aspire to be a guitar 🎸 but I’ll settle for being able to play competently what I hear when I write...(one day, Alice...to the moon)

I study under Duncan L. Wood and am grateful for his guidance and patience. Most of my influences are Folk/Blues/Indie, but inspiration arrives in many forms so HT to Hip Hop, Rap, Classical, especially Chamber trios. Current tracks are first cuts and I may update them in the future with cleaner versions, thank you for listening as I learn.
