Note: Greenville, CA was chosen as the location during the original 2004 creation of “Part One” and differs from the present Greenville, CA (I.e. the Dixie Fire). Its name is not mentioned in “Part One,” but I wanted to share it here.

Fun fact: Jack was the name of the original protagonist of the first manuscript before being changed to Scott.

08 The Scarlet Rage of Scott

The main protagonist. Scott Kitman is a 23-year-old ex-soldier who served in the Marines with Charlie. They are the only two to have survived the “Mississippi Massacre.” 

Scott is an expert marksman and fire arm specialist. Both him and Charlie began a private mercenary company when traveling back to CA. 

Scott’s behavior is usually reckless and he is constantly putting himself in danger. Due to this behavior he is targeted by Diadem during a failed espionage attempt.

04 Scott’s Theme

Charles Whittaker is a 23-year-old ex-soldier who served in the Marines with Scott during the 2nd American Civil War. They are the only two to have survived the “Mississippi Massacre.” 

Charlie joined Scott on the journey back to CA and the duo began work as mercenaries. Charlie handles the logistics of missions and aids Scott in reconnaissance. 

While Charlie is not as gifted in fighting and shooting as his brother in arms, he is still a capable fighter and tends to join his partner in reckless behavior. He has also become a target by Diadem for trying to steal secrets.

07 The Assassin

Lucienne (Lu) Anderson is a 23-year-old woman from Scott’s hometown who works and maintains “The Black Bird.” She has been madly in love with Scott since she was 15 and the two dated until Scott left to serve in the 2nd American Civil War.

Unfortunately, the relationship did not seem to continue when Scott returned. However, it didn’t end either. Overjoyed to have him in her life again, she patiently and supportively waits and helps Scott (who possibly suffers from PTSD).

She is not a member of the CA Crew but helps when they two men need help. However, she worries for them. 

She is strong willed, but finds herself weak when Scott stares into her eyes. She has unknowingly become a target of Diadem due to Charlie and Scott.

Full of rich history of olden days, the Black Bird sits near the middle of the heart of Belisare.
