The music is nice enough, I think. Esp. when it throttles back in this section. Soundwise I don't think the little wet reso slap does the track any favors. Esp the snare drum is hurt by it. That snare sounds really good on it's own, though.

I like the melodies quite a bit. One thing I’d suggest is adding some kind of movement at the tail of long sustained notes.

has some lovely moments,  i think it needs a vocal and cut down a bit as its a bit long.  great job though

I would like the drums to occasionally do a bit more. Liven it up a bit. Give a bit more energy. But otherwise it's very nice.

I like the lead sound but when the sweep is all the way in it gets a little piercing.  Some vibrato towards the end would also help it, I think.

All fx free or built into the DAW. DAW is Bitwig 5.3.x. No Samples. No Postprocessing after the audio export.

Ragnarök 2 by Full Bucket and Crimson Warlock

Last encountered in OSC70 this synth is available for Windows, Mac and Linux. Ragnarök 2 is an update of this unique synth simulating a custom-built one-of-a-kind analog synthesizer from 1980. It is written in native C++ code for high performance and low CPU consumption.

This month's One Synth Challenge uses Ragnarok by FullBucket (and CrimsonWarlock). The slightly odd interface took a wee bit of getting used to but I'll not use that as an excuse for this effort. It does contain some passable bird type noises hence the unrelated reflection of a jungle in my living room. This is a first outing for my Exquis so most of it was recorded from live rather than my usual generated MIDI.

Anyway, this is brought to you with Bitwig Studio 5.3 and 19 instances of Ragnarok.  The following plugins were also used:

- dpMeter5, Blue Cat's Gain 3 and KClip Zero on clip to zero duty
- khs Delay, Reverb and Stereo to tart things up a bit
- Panflow to get it moving
- Bitwig's compressor+, eq+, drum machine, delay+ and multi-note
- the inevitable Valhalla Supermassive and almost as inevitable Raum for some reverb flavours
- TDR Kotelnikov and Nova for mastering with a wee bit of KClip Zero 

Also used Modalics Beat Scholar to generate the MIDI for the percussion and iZotope's Tonal Balance for, er, tonal balancing...

I've been brought back to my video game soundtrack drafts lately. This song focuses on an atmosphere of a lush alien world that was turned into a battlefield. Although I'm happy with the usual Simmons style drums I made with this synth, there is a strange behaviour that occurs when two that uses noise instances playing simultaneously, some kind of weird phasing/flanging effect. I tried to minimize it as much as possible, but I can still hear it. The synth itself has good tone shaping capabilities and it's CPU efficient just like all Full Bucket instruments. I really like the sound of an overdrive and chorus effects, the much needed sauce for a virtual analog.
