BEIGE by name but definitely not by nature, this Detroit-based DJ specializes in multi-hued, carefully considered and highly danceable sets. Whether they’re playing smooth R&B and downtempo soul, crunchy electro, cheeky disco edits or oddball tech house, the only constant in their sets is quality. As likely to play a huge hit as to introduce you to your new favorite track, BEIGE occupies an important niche between their stuffier and less imaginative peers. Armed with a healthy disrespect for genre and convention and a discerning but unpretentious music collection, BEIGE aims to please, but more commonly thrills, delights, and inspires.

"This mix is a recording of a peak-time set I played around this time last year, in the Tangent Gallery Ballroom in Detroit at Samhain XXIII, a collaboration between Interdimensional Transmissions and T4TLUVNRG. My set time was between a long, very masterful warmup by Sold, and the ecstatic closing magic of Eris Drew b2b Octo Octa, the atmosphere was pretty Halloween-adjacent (lots of people wearing costumes, including me as Harley Quinn lol) and open, and for whatever reason it was one of those nights where the stars aligned in such a way that I was able to reach down somewhere inside and pull out a really wide-ranging, high-energy, cathartic performance which I kind of surprised myself with. It was towards the end of what had been a super hard year for me personally, but this was the best and most fun I'd had playing in a long, long time and there's truly something for everyone in there--acid, deep house, breaks, hardcore, diva vocals, swirly bell techno, ballads, jungle, and a handful of obligatory Beige pop moments that had a whole room full of Very Serious Real Music Appreciators and Good Taste-Havers absolutely *screaming*. Hope y'all enjoy it as much as I did!"

"When people hear me play, my greatest hope, always, is to uplift. 

I want those on the dance floor to leave feeling more confident, free and fierce than they did prior to me approaching the booth. 

This really is the ethos behind my work as an artist and my ultimate goal when preparing for Honcho Campout 2025.

While listening back, I found myself imbued with reassurance that I achieved what I set out to accomplish through this set.

In the crowd recording, you can hear the energy continue to grow as people made their way from their tents, through the trees, and onto the dance floor at Hemlock Hole, summoned by me, I suppose. 

From my memory, I can vividly envision all of the smiling-sweat-soaked faces that afternoon as I peeked up from the decks. The air was gritty with dust, kicked up from beneath people's dancing feet. Some had their eyes closed, lost in sound. Others raised their hands, palms facing me, welcomingly receiving the energy I was sharing with them, if energy were tangible. This audience made me feel encouraged and entrusted -- enthused by every beat drop as I transitioned track-to-track.

As a "House Head," this set was, especially, a love letter to the genre, which has touched my life in an unquantifiable way --  and continues to enlighten, inspire, and heal me.

May this mix be the narration of your KIKIs, road trips, gym sessions, pumping the pavement on the sidewalk on your way to work extravaganzas, etc. WERK IT OUT! EOW! "

Every so often a plum opportunity presents itself. The best ones are timeslips - for a few hours things can be turned on their heads and anything is possible: Ecstatic dancing at an immersive deep listening party? Sure. No mixing? Yup. We’ll just play wonky emotional bangers about joy? 100%!

On Saturday 12th October that’s pretty much exactly what happened at The Baths in Hackney Wick, London. A few hundred of us joined together to dance for hours on end, but the communal release, the expression of love and joy ended up being so much more than that. This recording captures something of the spirit of that moment. We hope you can feel it as much as we did.

Last December @CCL-tuf and I were invited to play an all night back to back set at a party called High & Tight in Seattle. H&T is one of those parties that you dream of playing, where every detail from the sound to the setting is perfectly thought out and where the crowd stays with you for every twist and turn. We ended up playing for almost 9 hours (although actually I had to leave for the airport before the end.) This excerpt is the first 3 hours, slowly and carefully heating the soup before bringing things to a boil.
