25年の夏、キューバへ飛んだ。思い描いていた楽園は、遅々として進まない入国手続きや世間知らずの日本人（当方）へのちんけな詐欺、インフラが整わず不潔な街路などが捨象された姿なのだと痛感した。レコード屋もあるにはあったが、ハバナではちょっとした公園で叩き売りしているのを目ざとく見つけて片言のスペイン語で値段交渉したり、アパートの一室で犬とじゃれながらかびだらけの7インチを拭いたり、東京の冷房の効いた店内での買い物を掘るとかディグとか、おいそれとは言えないなと感じた。それ以上に楽しかったし、音楽の内容も素晴らしい、それだけでTodo es perfecto！

In the summer of 2025, I flew to Cuba. The paradise I had imagined was nowhere to be found. Instead, I was confronted with slow immigration procedures, petty scams targeting naive Japanese tourists (myself included), and dirty streets with poor infrastructure. There were record stores, but in Havana, I found myself haggling over prices in broken Spanish at a flea market in a small park, or wiping moldy 7-inch records while playing with a dog in an apartment room. Compared to shopping in air-conditioned stores in Tokyo, it wasn’t exactly a pleasant experience. But it was more fun, and the music was amazing—that alone made everything perfect!
