"Voice of the Forest" was commissioned by pianist Lynn Schugren as part of her Sierra Prelude project. The piece was inspired by the pine, fir and oak forests of the Sierra Nevada foothills.

The mandolin and first guitar trade solos and octaves in the first half.  At the key change they play together in harmony over the rhythm guitar with ornaments throughout.
