I love AALIYAH from the bottom of my heart. I don't remember exactly which song was the first one I listened to that made me fall in love with her artistry, but I think it was "Try Again." It took me some time to deeply delve into her story, but after the release of "Poison" with The Weeknd back in 2021, I started listening to her discography and watching her old interviews and OMG, I immediately fell in love with her. She was so pure, so kind, so sweet – truly a good person and a great entertainer. And wow, what a heavenly gift her voice was. I miss her every day. I wish she was here with us, alive and well. It breaks my heart to think about what her music and her career could have been if she were still here. Her music is just like heaven to me, and I truly believe that she was an angel who stepped onto this planet to bless us with her voice.

Today, 07/07/23, marks the 22nd anniversary of the release of her self-titled album, which was also her last, sadly. So, I decided to make a mashup to celebrate this anniversary and also her LEGACY. I'm not a professional mashup artist, so I apologize if this mashup is off-tempo or whatever. I had this idea for quite some time after listening to Beyoncé's "Summertime" and noticing that both tracks has a summer vibe, close bpm's and I also noticed a small similarity between the drum stems of both tracks.

My intention here is not to create any rivalry between them, this is just a FUN MASHUP, okay? I love Beyoncé & Aaliyah. They are both Queens to me. Hope you all enjoy it! Rest in Heaven, Babygirl! You are truly missed! #Aaliyah4Ever
