Recording the Sound of the Forest for 1010 

A few days ago, I recorded a special track for Mari Kita — our Mobile Phone Orchestra piece for the 1010 performance on 12 October at Kita-Senju Sports Park.

The sound was captured by the Yu River in Nagano, deep in the mountains.
When 1010 people play this track from their phones and walk together in circles, the city will transform — we’ll bring the sound of the forest and the flowing river into the middle of Tokyo.

This track is also a souvenir — a small memory you can carry with you.
You can make it your morning call, or simply listen to remember this time and place.
The sound will change over time, just like our memories do — but this is my way of capturing a moment, a piece of sound from the mountains, and sharing it with all of you.
