Some guitar playing over a loop of rhythm sequence, "bass" of a transducer clamped to the body of a broken classical guitar, and a Wurlitzer 200A.

A Little Love

An old cassette master of a 4-track recording of drums with a triggered sampled kick, keyboard bass and a couple of guitars.

Asterisk

This was made of many different recordings of many different things assembled in such a way as to simulate a composition. Or so I say...

Big Noise Mix

This started with the echo bass track, then the drums. It wasn't easy, but it was fun. The messed up stuff in the middle was due to a malfunctioning input on the tape recorder during the tracking of the bass guitar. I'd never be able to recreate that mess, so I left it right where I found it. It is what it is.

C#-F# Deal

Recorded direct to two-track DAT as it occurred. Two Mirages with similar sequences being controlled independently on the fly. The guitar amplifier sounds like the old Carvin.

Fairground Facility

This backing track is all Mirage through the old mono looper. This is why I got a stereo looper.

Greenfeast

This was unplanned. I recorded the drums one day and they weren't too bad. What the bass did followed what the drums did and likewise did the guitar. If my 25 year-old recollection is to be trusted, the recording was a DAT to cassette to DAT bounce.

Something In The Air

Yesterday at Aireloom, I recorded a stereo drumcheck on the DR-1. I liked it, but it was short. I put it on the DAW here at home and it aligned-to-grid well enough, so I tripled it. I recorded the longer drums back onto the DR-1 and bounced (or, "sound on sound" technically)the rest in this order; Rickenbacker, white Strat, old Les Paul; the last track, a one-take.

Spring-a-ding Funk

Just a simple little line on the piano gave me enough reason to want to see what might come of it. I recorded the Wurlitzer 270 and Technics rhythm pattern on the RC-3 (8 measures), then recorded one take of the Rickenbacker with the loop on the DR-1, and on that I "bounced" one take of the white Strat played through the PX4.

Lost Days

I'm a multi-instrumental musician with over 40 years of recordings in the archives. I often use loops, both sequenced and recorded, and I also perform all the instruments. I have played in many rock bands and have enjoyed very limited fame.
