The band was founded in 2009 by a Moscow bass guitar player Vladimir Yanovsky (Jean Jeanych). The name of the band "BAODUB" is interplay of the two words: “dub” and “baobab”. At first the music had an ethnic tone in accord with didgeridoo, Jew's-harp and other instruments. At present the band mainly performs reggae/dub. Songs’ lyrics focus on the positive state of being, look at the subjects of love, mutual support, sincerity, beauty and kindness. The aim of each concert is to charge the audience with the particles of kindness, joy and happiness as much as possible.
