Ringing the alarm with March's podcast is musician Clara Cuvé (@claracuve). Piercing right through these desolate days like a point 50 caliber bullet.

Clara Cuvé does not relinquish pace nor energy. Her roots go back to the classical piano in which she was trained since the age of four. Clara's deep love of music naturally leads her to accumulate a record collection throughout the years, which she deploys during her energetic sets ranging from fast and groovy Techno to Breakbeat, Jungle and Hardcore, always focusing on groove and dynamics.

After becoming part of the Munich label Stock5 (@stock5) and their monthly event series at Rote Sonne (@rotesonne), she made her way to Berlin, where she became a resident for the infamous event series Mess that took place at OHM and started touring all over the world. In 2020 she released her debut track "Control "on Kobosil's (@kobosil)  R-Label Group's first compilation "Sektion 1 ", a hard pounding Techno banger with a haunting voice and mesmerizing synth line.

KI/KI at Intercell Outdoor 2019

Novembers podcast is an extended 2,5-hour techno odyssey, brought to you by the German DJ and producer: Henning Baer (@henningbaerberlin).

As the resident DJ of Grounded Theory (@grounded-theory-berlin), one of its founders, curator of its celebrated agency and events, and a DJ of worldwide renown for ability and tastes, Henning Baer forged his enviable résumé with his own hands.

Since its beginning in 2009, Grounded Theory has grown from a bracing new idea in Berlin techno to an institution of artistic nightlife both at its home and around the continent. Directed with acute vision and unerring judgment, its philosophy extracted from Henning’s long years at the front lines of electronic music, it remains diverse and cutting edge. Mirroring Henning Baer's DJ sets, Grounded Theory combines music from different eras and areas, remaining rooted in techno while shedding light on sounds less frequently heard on Berlin dance floors: forward UK music, experimental electronics, and underground techno names from across the globe, both new and established.   

Following on years of closely-synchronized work with fellow resident Milton Bradley (@do-not-resist-the-beat), Henning Baer is now asserting greater independence with innovative new production styles on a recent EP for Taanstaafl Planets. The launch of his own MANHIGH imprint (@manhighrecordings) buttresses the foundation of his own work, to be built up alongside a select few whose productions meet the curatorial acumen of one of techno’s finest ears. After esteemed releases on Sonic Groove (@sonic-groove-records), K209 (@k209) and elsewhere, fans worldwide have much to look forward to from a label whose standards match those of Grounded Theory. 

Already a respected artist, Henning’s diligence has transported him from the counter to the shelves of Hardwax and from the floor to the booth of Berghain (@berghain) in regular appearances. Now he is building further upon these impressive accomplishments, profoundly shaping contemporary techno from recent memory into the foreseeable future.

September's podcast is made by Berghain resident and one of the most sharp-cutting Berliners out there: Somewhen (@somewhen).

Somewhen is part of Berlin’s new techno generation, which continues to elaborate on the genres’ principal topics by adapting their meanings to a post-modern context. Futurism and nostalgia – two traditional techno themes purposely coming together within the very name of the producer, DJ and label owner: Somewhen describes this uncertain time in the vague future (whenever) as well as the confidence that eventually (sometime) one’s own dreams can be achieved.

In 2014, Somewhen not only impressed with the track “Kobalt” featured on his debut EP 9 – his second release (99 EP) on his own label SANA presented a conceptual artist of strong character driven by a sophisticated musical language. It’s not only about the quest to find ornamental or complex melodies that create the distinctive soul of Somewhen’s sound but also about the path he’s been taking thus far.

Berlin-born in the mid-80’s, Somewhen initially trained on drums and piano and experimented with hip-hop instrumentals later on. Long before his first record release, he explored the energising potential between beat, groove and melody. Influenced by bands like Depeche Mode and Massive Attack as well as the ubiquitous club culture of Berlin, Somewhen’s sound shifted more decidedly into electronic terrain, especially after training as a sound engineer. From hypnotic repetition to the subtle wealth of detail to his passion for atmospheric soundscapes: Somewhen’s current techno design derives from different sources that all share one common vision through which he’s deliberately positioning himself against one-dimensionality. With his versatile DJ sets, such as his Berghain [@berghain] debut in October 2014, or as a producer (Null EP, Unterton 2016; AFL, Ostgut Ton [@ostgutton-official], 2018), Somewhen has shown that breaking from your own routine can be both: journey and destination at once.
