A Heavy Millstone was written as a response to the suffering I witnessed in both many friends and some family members as a result of abuse and molestation by Catholic clergy in my hometown of Dalhousie, New Brunswick.  This poem appears on my second audio book, Prayer to Morning. Guitar by Chris Corrigan.

I've been recording a bit of music lately to see if I can still croak out a tune.  This is a stunningly beautiful song by the late, great Townes Van Zandt, so simple and yet so powerful.  Guitar parts were handled by Chris Corrigan of Charlottetown, and this song was recorded in his studio there.

The Plover's Nest

The Plover's Nest by Bob Jensen and Tony McManus

This is a rough mix for my cover of Tom Waits' classic, I Hope That I Don't Fall in Love with You, which will be released in early 2021 on a full album of cover songs I am calling, "For the Sake of the Song."  The album will feature some of my favourite songs from a lifetime of listening, people like Leonard Cohen, Townes Van Zandt, Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan.  The finished version will include background vocals and additional instrumentation.
Special guests on the album will include James Keelaghan, Emma LeBlanc (Vishtèn, Ray Cooper (formerly of Oysterband) and Doug Cox, and is being produced by Chris Corrigan.
