This is a replacement to “Once Upon a Time”.

In ancient times, two civilizations ruled the EARTH.
HUMANS and MONSTERS.
The two lived in peace, until…
A great war broke out.
Outmatched by the humans’ power, the monsters surrendered.
They fled deep under the earth’s surface for protection…
…and the humans created a veil of darkness over them.
Many years passed…
Legends speak of a dark and dangerous underworld…
…where no human who enters it returns.
But these legends spark inspiration in the daring and bold…

THE HAUNTED KINGDOM is a roleswap AU centered around a kingdom of monsters trapped underneath a veil of darkness. Hearing legends of this haunted world, a brave human falls down into the kingdom and must brave the challenges ahead of them.

The dialogue mentions a “veil of darkness” that the monsters were trapped under. What’s that, you may ask? Well, remember the space background that appears when the player chooses to lay down in Napstablook’s house for a while? A similar idea exists for the barrier replacement, but here it’s an endless void of shadows and darkness. Just imagining it gives you the chills, doesn’t it?
