Sometimes the weather gets rough in all of our lives. Storms come, people cry out… just hang in through it all. Just after the rain there will be peace like gentle drops of water from wet leaves above.

Look at what’s happening just outside of your own window. 
The world right in front of you can be storybook perfect most of the time! 
Live in that world and think about the great things around you!

Some People Are Waitin’ for the World to Change

It was a short getaway to the Appalachian Trail.
I walked 30 miles across mountain trails making a home in the woods with strangers. 
Fascinating people that you meet! 
Inspiring and beautiful!
I stayed one night with someone who had walked over 2000 miles just before we met. About to finish the entire AT!
It’s just a temporary life for both of us. Is it just a fantasy world that we exist in out on a trail? 
OR is this more like the world that we are meant to live in?
Either way, it ends quickly.
I returned home to find out that a family member had been in an accident and stayed the night in a hospital.
The emotional frustration comes out as I just impromptu let it flow on a single take.
Life will throw you curves 
and you are given no choice 
but to roll with it!

These Woods are Your Home

Influenced by nearly everything musically. 
Born in the 60’s with my dad playing harmonica for a well respected, local folk, blues entertainer. 

Disciplined enough to play violin in the orchestra through high school but having my ears molded by heavy blues and R&B influence. Working hard for orchestral performances, including musicals and quartets, where the audience is so often politely reserved, it felt like success and accomplishment and appreciated but…

When I hit the stage at East Carolina in a dance and R&B group as a guitar player, and the whole place was bouncing while we played; that was IT!!   Musically I had arrived where I wanted to be!

It was so brief.  College and career were the priority. I tucked that experience away and raised a family. 

I bought a bass one day. About two months later started an 8 year run with a local group. 

Serious gigs, big sound system, recording and eventually writing and performing our own material to greater success than covers.  

A job change ended that but put my ears on some great blues music from a college radio station. Discovering slide and open tunings, dobro just brought musical creativity forefront. 

That’s where I am now. Composing what I feel.  Putting some simple stuff out for anyone who may want to listen.
