This is about the consequences of bullying. Morgan was 13, bullied at school mercilessly and relentlessly, until she committed suicide. When I read about the case years ago I found it distressing and later was moved to write this song. Don’t have a personal connection to what happened, I just found it really sad.

The people are trapped in the dark tunnels away from home
It is so dark as the middle of the night
and the air becomes so light as the hours are passing by
one may wonder what they are doing in this horrible place
They have heard that these tunnels should be safe
now when the bombs are falling down on them

The hours are passing and the kids feel so bad
They don’t want to die here, they hope to be released
but their mothers try to give them some comfort so they can stand
the hunger, thirst and nightmares in these dangerous times
I’ve seen pictures that can break every heart
and it’s terrible to just watch the scene

It is so strange to experience all this cruelty
that is shown by a country of today
one may wonder how it is in the brain of their boss
who seems to lack a compassion for human lives
he lets canons and rockets kill them all
and he cannot have a healthy brain

Poverty
The "Schwabengehen", which finds its first mentions already in the 16th and 17th century, experienced its peak in the 19th century. It is estimated that at that time five to six thousand children worked annually on farms abroad as herd boys, maids or as farmhands. The background to this was the extremely low soil yields in the alpine regions and the associated poverty, which drove parents to send one or more of their numerous children abroad.

The Ways
The ways from Tyrol and Vorarlberg or from Switzerland to Upper Swabia were long and arduous. For some of the children, most of whom were between 5 and 14 years old, it led over mountain passes such as the Arlberg, which were usually still covered in snow in March and which many had to overcome with poor shoes and scanty clothing. Usually their companion was an adult, sometimes a priest, who made sure along the way that the children could settle down to sleep in warm stables and who negotiated prices at the markets. The construction of the Arlberg railroad in 1884 made the journey easier for the Tyrolean children.

The "children's markets" in Upper Swabia usually took place around Josephi (March 19). At Simon and Juda (end of October) or at the latest at Martini (November 11) they went back home. In the luggage were then the so-called "Doppelt Häs" (a double set of clothes from the headgear to the footwear) and, depending on the age and the negotiated price, a few guilders.

The Hütekinder arrived at the port of Friedrichshafen by ship from Bregenz. Since 1891, the central market place for the Hütekinder was in Karlstraße in Friedrichshafen. The children who were not placed traveled by train to Ravensburg to be placed there.

The work
In their homeland, Swabian children were exempted from compulsory schooling every year, and in the Kingdom of Württemberg the compulsory schooling that had existed there since 1836 did not apply to foreign children. The politically repeatedly demanded extension of compulsory schooling was prevented until 1921 by an Upper Swabian farmers' lobby.

Dear friends, I worry more and more about the state of the earth! More and more wars flare up, the climate is worrying with natural disasters as a result! Strong malevolent rulers emerge and succeed in egging the population of the respective countries. History has shown how it goes - I think of such men as Hitler and others! The war causes huge emissions of greenhouse gases! Instead, use the soldiers to plant trees and fight the terrible forest fires!

The Baltic Sea is living dangerously right now! Scores of ships in deplorable condition transport oil across the sea. The risks are great for extensive oil disasters! I have made some songs for the Baltic sea just to make people understand the problems.

I write almost all of my songs, and I sing my songs and play the guitar and the harp - no more. My recording equipment is quite modest with a Furch guitar, Alhambra guitar, Röde microphone, Focusrite and Garageband. My studio is our guest room in our house.
I was young during the 1960s when Dylan became famous. I was a member of a folk song group during that time. I love Dylan´s music!! I was also a big fan of The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, Mamas and the Papas and several more singers. I like folk music and the old protest songs. I love the music of Eva Cassidy. I was also a big fan of Björn Afzelius, and I love the music of Tom Petty. I am very inspired of the music of John Denver.
Bengt and certainly several 100 million people are intensively protesting against all evil around the world!
I love to sometimes write songs that are a bit weird and self-ironic!
You know that I am a novice in the "recording business", and sometimes I have to revise the songs.
My whole grown up life was occupied by my profession as a doctor in intensive care and anesthesiology. I was head of the department of Intensive and perioperative Care in Lund, Sweden the last years. After that I have got the possibility to be dedicated to music. 
My songs are a matter of extreme happiness and extreme sadness. I write all the music and lyrics except "As tears go by", "House of the Rising Sun", and songs by Evert Taube.
I love to leave some message with my songs!
I have no previous experience of writing fiction. I have, however, some experience in writing non-fiction. I wrote my thesis, and some chapters in a textbook in anesthesiology. I was also member of a group who introduced an education program in pediatric cardio pulmonary resuscitation for laymen in Sweden.
