The Shamal Codex moves along older winds. It is a meeting place rather than a genre — where traditional Arabic musical textures encounter jazz-rock fusion, heavy metal energy, and the resonant voice of the Eklektika cello quartet. The music does not try to smooth these differences; it lets them collide, overlap, and travel together. Rhythms shift, structures unfold unpredictably, and fragments of different musical worlds appear and disappear like landscapes seen from a moving caravan.
Each track takes its name from a station along the ancient Silk Roads — places where merchants, travellers, languages, and ideas once gathered before continuing across deserts and mountains. In those crossroads cultures did not remain separate; they influenced one another, adapted, and transformed. The Shamal Codex follows that same spirit of exchange, tracing a musical journey where distant traditions meet in motion, carried forward by the same restless wind that once moved across the Silk Roads — the Shamal.
