Great story. Something like this actually happened in me, many years ago (without the spider's actually talking).  So I don't kill creatures anymore. And they are all over my house!

Great story telling Dave and playing too that follows the story line. Spiders get a bad rap for sure, widows and recluses would be the only ones I would not want in my house.  I have done interventions for wolf spiders and tarantulas, but the larger lesson is not lost, if these are creatures made by God (and they are) how much more we should regard each other especially in our differences.

I’ve always thought about this, especially when my 3 years old said to me@ Daddy, why did you make that bug dead? I almost started crying!  I get your message, David! While I despise some of the things that may harm me, I suppose, due to our fallen, current world and situation, I try to live and let live.., but things that harm me.. it’s definitely a @ real reflection and question for our @ Creator!! I have no @ real answer.., but mosquitoes.. and deadly spiders.. just a nope…🙏🙏🙏

There often is no rational reason for the level of hate and extent of death and destruction for most of our self inflicted tragedies. I think if we ask ourselves the simple question that the spider asked me and if we are true to our own selves and not blinded by paranoia/false leaders. then this can stop

without thinking much,I walked over and picked up my foot

First I was shocked that a spider was talking to me at all
but mostly, I couldn't answer his question
I couldn't think of a reason and mostly I knew God would not approve of killing something for any reason

So I stepped aside,got my coffee
the spider went to his web for his breakfast
and we both had a great day

so before you raise your fist in anger again
before you hurl another horrible racial slur
before you burn someone,throw a rock or kill someone
be sure you answer the spider's question first

I kind of let the end run on a bit but I quite like how it lulls you into a false sense of security and then jump out of your skin when the next track starts.
