The name of my song is called {Respect to soca}  
and it represent Carnival and good vibes music.

Respect To Soca - Michael Parris

I was born and raised on the beautiful island of St. Maarten. I started my music journey at the age of twelve and always knew I wanted to be a singer/songwriter. 

I found love for singing through musical influencers such as local music teachers like Bobby Vlaun , Anastasia Larmonie and many international R&B artists like Boys to Men , Joe , Genuine , 2 Pac and others of that time. Growing up as a teenager I listened to alot of R&B, Hip Hop, soul, Soca Oldies and reggae music.

I started singing R&B but after opening shows for artist such as Genuine , Beenie man , Ne-yo , Destra , Tok, Christopher Martin and Nelly to name a few . I switched over to reggae , Soca and Zouk. I like to think I am a versatile singer.
I also acts, I do stage plays and I play pool , I'm considered to be one of the best on the Island. 

I'm right now working on new music and want to take my music to an international level. I released new singles like More, Respect to soca and others you can find on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.

I performed on many big shows that was held in the carnival village , both sides of St. Maarten / St. Martin , I also sang for political parties on numerous occasions in the past and I've won numerous talent show including sxm star search. 

I support other artist as well new and old and was featured in many local collaborations of songs to numerous to mention. I also started a new trend called support your own because I believe we have alot of talented singers right here on St. Maarten.
