Scottish force of nature La La lands on Rhythm Section INTL with her first EP for the London imprint: “council”.
Having cut her teeth as a resident of iconic Scottish institutions FLY Edinburgh and Sub Club Glasgow for years, La La - real name Lauren Andrew - emerged onto the international scene at the tail end of the 2010’s. Forged by the fire of the unbeatable Scottish scene that gave rise to Jackmaster, Ewan McVicar, Optimo and Dennis Sulta, La La used the downtime afforded in the pandemic to hone her craft as a producer, dialling in her songwriting and honing her production techniques to find her own sound.
The time burrowed away in the studio paid off, crystallising in this razor-sharp EP, sitting in the sweet spot between Hard Groove & Peak Time Techno.
Over 4 tracks we are treated to a masterclass in driving, percussive club music: from the playful tension in“ against them” to the relentless drive of “nod to letting go” the tracks are peppered with playful breakdowns reminiscent of Ricardo Villalobos at his most groovy. Title track “council” takes a solid house groove, a thunderous 909 kick and goes to town. It’s utilitarian, confident and powerful in its execution: it’s grade A 100% pure dance floor weaponry.
The Final track, touch me is a real mix of contemporary club sounds: a layered 1 bar loop that wouldn’t feel out of place on the latest Leod release is paired with pitched down vocals evocative of post dubstep. Just when we think we’ve figured it out, deep house synth stabs, piano chords and sexy vocals join the melee in a way that could sound cacophonous but instead sits together at perfect counterpoint. La La has proven to have an almighty knack for balancing disparate elements and influences into a harmonious whole and it’s clear to anyone who listens that she’s found her voice and is having fun with it.

La La - Council [EP Preview]

French producer MRZ introduces Right Here, a four-track EP that connects the roots of house with today’s underground scene. Across the record he moves between lo-fi textures, classic piano chords, breakbeat rhythms, and acid basslines, building music that is both nostalgic and fresh.

The lead single What You Do (out October 10, 2025) opens with emotional pads and a 303 bassline, supported by soulful vocal samples that set the tone for the project. Break Out (out October 24, 2025) follows with breakbeat momentum and piano stabs that radiate positivity and energy. Don’t Look Back pulls from 90s club euphoria with UK-inspired breaks, uplifting soul vocals, and timeless piano chords. Closing track, Something is a direct tribute to house lovers everywhere, layering dreamy pads, a rolling bassline, and a symbolic spoken vocal.

MRZ is a DJ and producer who likes to make people dance and smile. His selection inspired by the 90's, varies between house and techno, through soulful house, deep house, garage house, funky house, UK garage, French touch, jungle and acid house. He has already had the opportunity to play in clubs and festivals in France, USA, Japan, the UK, Bulgaria, Romania, Spain, the Netherlands, Hungary, Switzerland, Slovenia and the Czech Republic. He is also part of Arkuda Label, Unbelievably Spectacular, Too Rough 4 Radio, Pleasure Promise Records, Misplaced Recordings, EELF Records and Welofi.

Together, they are the biggest organisation in the UK dedicated to securing Palestinian human rights.

Their crucial work involves placing pressure on the British Government, which despite a change in ruling party last year, has made no material effort to end its complicity in Israel’s genocide. Public opinion against Israel and its actions continues to grow– and this would not be possible without the tireless efforts of groups like Palestine Solidarity Campaign.

Vief’s compilation comprises 15 tracks from artists based across five continents, showcasing the very best the world of leftfield techno has to offer.

This stunning 4-tracker shows us an always advancing craft that the Polish duo are capable of. Ever present is their knack for euphoria, for meticulous drumwork, and their ability to mix-match equal pairings of colour and abrasiveness. Paired effectivity on the broken-beat realms of "Mud Break" and "Power Chord" meet solid groove construction on the 4-to-the-floor torrents of the aptly titled "Sub Soldier" and "Vulcan Mind Probe"

However, we sense throughout a notch up in fine detail, a heightened understanding of club pressure, and a deeper outlook into pushing forward the boundaries of breakbeat-continuum styles. We've always expected them to go upwards, we were just never certain of how high their ceiling was, or if one does actually exist.
