The great comedown from the radiant warmth of summer is here and with it an opportunity to look inwards and reflect. It's this care or "Fürsorge" we give to ourselves and others that our next guest and dear friend Resom used as a theme for this mix. Recorded live almost exactly one year ago for the Swim crew in Basel, the theme of the event was to explore the concept of softness and the ethics of care. With this in mind, she set out to "send people on an acoustic trip, en route to a comfortable inner sphere - a sphere that cares acoustically also for dynamic and organically created versatile excurses." Indeed, it is this level of intention and care that makes her mixing immersive and healing.

Needless to say, we at Unrush fully embrace this theme and feel it's the perfect time to integrate it into our lives. So make yourself some tea, pause, and take care of yourself with this excursion into sound from Resom.

Next aquatic adventure is guided by Lyon based DJ @PascalMental - an active member of the local electronic scene over the past 10 years. This mix is a foray into the caverns of his rich and varied record collection, touching down with a delicate proggy contribution to the series based on textured, warm and psy-infused grooves.

Phyllomedusa bicolor is a species of leaf frog living in the Amazon rainforest. During the mating season, the female and male construct a leaf-nest above forest pools, where the eggs are laid in a gelatinous mass of about 70 cm above the water. At these period of time, males fight each other for mating rights by using their heads to attempt to separate another male who is attached to a female.  These fights are very vocal and can be easily heard by predators. However, to combat this, giant leaf frogs produce peptides in their skin that serves as a chemical defense. This skin secretion, known as Kambo, Sapo or Vacina do sapo (frog vaccine) contains opioid peptides used by amazonian tribes to go hunting and warding off illness (where it induces intense vomiting), and has seen increasing popularity as an alternative treatment for depression and drug dependency.

Destroyed by deforestation and ecocide, indigenous peoples' rainforest communities continue to disappear. A 2009 study found that a 4 °C rise (above pre-industrial levels) in global temperatures by 2100 would kill 85% of the Amazon rainforest while a temperature rise of 3 °C would kill some 75% of the Amazon. Amazonian rainforests have unparalleled biodiversity - one in ten known species in the world lives in the region.
