As the season of holidays comes again the soulful, spiritual meanings come to my mind. And this has been to me a time to especially reflect on the aspect of peace. Only weeks ago in the predawn hours in my studio I sat at the keyboard and the underlying score of this piece of music came to me.

It is interesting how peace generally has the feeling of gentle whispers of sound such as "Silent Night". And yet it also can have a bold powerful climax of sound bringing a majestic joy and assuring sense that peace is more than a hope or a dream.

I brought the resources of my little synth studio back to a setup very similar my "A Classical Dream" track and carried over some influence from my "Soulful Season" track. And the spirit of this beautiful season once again can fill the air! Perhaps this can be a sound for all seasons.

A Time For Peace

Another month, another mix. This edition welcomes Edinburgh based DJ and Rossz Records label boss: Renata. Originally from Hungary, she has been heavily involved in the scene here in Edinburgh putting on outstanding parties in clubs across the city. In addition to this, her EH-FM show, Music For A Single Plant never fails to bring inovative and exciting music to the airwaves. However, her label, Rossz Records, is where she places most of her time. With two stellar releases last year, it is really starting to pick up steam. Both compilations and filled with an amazing array of otherworldy IDM, ambient and braindance sounds - all handpicked by Renata herself. With rumour of a new digital release on the horizon, the label is well worth keeping an eye on in 2020.

For her DRIFT mix, Renata brings a range of chilled out ambient sounds. Citing the winter months as inspiration, it flows though deep, undulating soundscapes filled with experimental overtones and creates a truly unique listening experience. Ideal for attentive, late night listening - curl up and do nothing and let the sounds transport you!
