THE ART OF THE UNIVERSE

I close my POTENCIAL BIÓTICO album with this contemporary revival of a philosophical song I wrote 19 years ago when my grandpa died.

Could describe it as a requiem for guitar quartet, 2 voices, rhythmic base & church bell (you may know the piano version at https://soundcloud.com/esemanolain-ruizzo/sets/piano-sessions-2012 album).

A mostly slow piece with lotta soul and no artistic ambition (but a little ‘Pros&Cons’ air to the end ;).

Miedo al cambio (Acostumbrado)

“Through Space & Time” was written during the Depression chapter of “While They Were Sleeping,” and it belongs to the story of my mother a tribute to her love, her fire, and her place in the cosmos of who I am.

This is more than music. It’s memory turned celestial. A way to honor her when words fell short. The melody floats like starlight because that's how I remember her quiet strength, deep sorrow, a gravity I still orbit.

Even when we were oceans apart in silence, in misunderstanding she was still my home. This piece is for her. For everything she carried. For the light she gave me, even when she had so little left for herself.

“Through Space & Time” is the sound of missing someone who never truly left. It’s the sound of love, cosmic and complicated. And eternal.

As some of you know I suffered from Cataract a very long time. It rules everything in life to see or to see not. Now I got new lenses implanted and learn to see quite from the beginning. It´s amazing, I am gifted with a new way of life. Time to close that chapter. To finish it, I expressed some of my experiences and suffering in that song. Thanks for listening. Douglas Adams challenged the world and asked the question “Why?” in such a witty and perceptive way that it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that it captured my reason to be in a way no writer has before or since. “The Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy” has become an international best seller so it’s therefore a surprise, at least to me, not to see his name mentioned more frequently on regularly published lists of history’s most significant authors.  Whilst it’s no doubt true that I wouldn’t be someone whose opinion you’d seek out as an authority on such things, I do find it hard to believe that a man who created something so hilariously and philosophically original doesn’t get the true recognition he deserves. “Hitch Hiker” was so much more than a work of science fiction.  It was something that taught us the valuable life lesson that there really was no need to have an answer to everything.
Has anyone heard of Douglas? Well, he was certainly the man who let me know I wasn't on my own.

Once again, my grateful thanks to Hans (also a ‘Hitch Hiker’ fan, by the way) for the brilliant arrangement on this song.  But he’s just this guy, you know…

This is a song about escape and freedom to be at one with nature and the elements .
we are living in strange days and my instincts tell me to go find the spirits of the great outdoors and reconnect with nature and find some grounding also i feel the need to create as artists we are currently stranded souls left on a empty beach waiting for everything to open  up and re-connect again .
