"This song started with Tez coming up with a heavy riddim and monster bass to go with it, over which he laid his clockwork rhythm guitar. He shared it with Josh, who came up with the piano and organ parts. It was pretty much done, but we wated vocals on it, so it languished on the digital shelf for almost half a year. 
  That is until Saskia heard and worked with Tez on a different open collab on his page. He then offered her this one. She downloaded it, added her superb vocals, and sent it back to the other two to review. They were blown away by her creativity and skill as a singer, and are very grateful to her for reviving the project. 
  When it was all laid down, Tez mixed it expertly, as always. Saskia took his mix, sped it up and adjusted her vocals, too. She is a very competent producer, as well.
  Tez and Josh are big dub fans from way back, and this is the latest in a couple year running series of collabs in the genre from the two of them. They are very grateful to Saskia for doing such a wonderful job of completing the song. Look for her in future collabs, both with Tez and Josh, as well as with their band, The Eclectic Collective. Tikkun

This is maybe the first track I've ever released to SC featuring me playing guitar! Picking it back up a bit after a long break... I'm continuing to explore Ableton Live and it's inspiring me to think outside of my normal creative patterns.

Above the Noise

I wrote this song while thinking of my great friend Jim Maack, who was also my brother-in-law.  He was suffering from an especially aggressive form of cancer at the time and he was heavy on my mind.  All I could think of was the spirit of this man.  I recently spoke at his service which was attended by hundreds of people he touched - standing room only.  I can't begin to explain how amazing this person was.  This song captures his spirit in a small way.  He was the kindest, most positive person I've ever known.
