‘Melodi’ is the second album from Kit Sebastian. Those familiar with the band's cult classic 2019 debut record 'Mantra Moderne' will instantly recognise their unique sound that blurs boundaries of world music, jazz and psychedelia. Not to be content replicating the same album, sonically the feel of ‘Melodi’ is a maturation. It is more diverse and provides glimpses into many different worlds from the Italian Riviera to the mountains of the Caucasus, the beaches of Bahia to the city streets of Istanbul and Paris. This joyous merging of soundscapes evokes a borderless planet with music as an international language, belonging everywhere and nowhere.

People need to stop being so ugly to each other. So what? You can hear someone; but were you  listening? Can you have a conversation or having you gotten too comfortable with ins and out? What has you so consumed that you cannot take time out to be alone with yourself? It becomes easier to be yourself when you know your self. Those who know self are sovereign beings. They cannot be bound or shackled through the mind, body or soul. 

You see, when you know your self, there is no fear. When you are present, you dwell within your own energy and you begin to operate from within that energy. As you become more aware and sensitive with self, barriers are removed and you become sovereign. Respect nods to respect and disdains ignorance. Learn everyday something new about the world all around you. Come undone. Be up, be brave and be kind. Life is too short to be so consumed by any one thing. 

The next time you are in public, say this to yourself: America has a strong culture of diversity. There are like minded people and there are some whom you may not agree with. Learn how to agree to disagree. It takes a soulless person to kill someone in an instant and have no remorse, no empathy-someone who is lifeless and cold. 

I have never lost a friend or dismissed anyone simply because of politics. At the end of the day, we are ALL Americans. To kill your own fellow citizen in the name of politics, propaganda and lies is beneath us. A low down dirty shame and ill advised. Are you so much of a stranger to yourself that you have become someone else? How can one judge others when one doesn't even know thyself?

We the people of this nation declare this our house and that which is American society; the worker, the mover and the shaker no longer tolerates the assassin or the ideation of such nonsense, a kin to the thief, the breach, the chaos agent and the liar -- harming others for personal gain is beneath us -- rise or fall, do not manipulate, propagate or come to us with more than one face -- those who did and do the work; to know, to love and to draw the line to rise!  

This age shall be a golden brown and bright yellow-blue at sunrise and bright yellow-orange at sunset; shall we arise in UNITY, sovereign individual, blessed we shall be, many of us like minded and as diverse as the universe; now free of all entanglements; we cannot be kept from rising anymore; we kicked down the door, we must unite more than ever before!

Wars and killing are barbaric and uncivilized. We must agree to disagree and listen as much as we talk. I believe the universe has every intention of keeping us from destroying each other.

Anglo-Mauritian producer, singer and percussionist Joseph Deenmamode aka Mo Kolours is set to release ‘Inner Symbols’, his third solo album, on 18th May via Five Easy Pieces.

You won’t find many producers quoting Plato - ‘Inner Symbols’ takes its cue from the philosopher’s words "Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, charm and gaiety to life and everything''. Influences are many and all, ranging from colonization and African diaspora to Korean shamanism, Doug Hammond to Junior Byles.

The entire album was created on a Electro Harmonix looper using samples and live instrumentation and a Roland drum machine. Similarly his energetic, improvised live show sees tracks layered up from loops of voice, percussion and drum machine before skewing in new directions. It’s a thrilling approach which has taken him to clubs and festival stages from Brighton to Brisbane, as well as to the BBC’s hallowed Maida Vale studios at the invitation of Gilles Peterson.

Raised on the traditional sega music of his father’s Indian Ocean homeland alongside records by the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Michael Jackson, Mo Kolours adds hip hop, dub, soul and other electronic styles to his individual sound. His approach could find him placed alongside Madlib or The Gaslamp Killer but he would be equally happy in the company of James Blake, Erykah Badu, Theo Parrish or Moodymann.

Along with Reginald Omas Mamode IV, Jeen Bassa, Henry Wu, Al Dobson Jr and Tenderlonious; he’s helped forge in the 22a co-operative that The FADER calls “a kaleidoscopic patchwork of hip-hop, house, and groove investigations bound by one thread: a timeless belief in rhythm as a universal language”.
