Leaving a Legacy of Worship and the Fear of the Lord

Discipleship has been defined and described in many different ways. In this podcast, we'll look at Jesus' relationship with His disciples and Paul's relationship with Pastor Timothy. As you study both models, you'll find similar components of healthy discipleship relationships. Paul was Timothy's spiritual father so he had a place in Timothy's life that was deeper and more influential than most other people. Jesus, of course, had the advantage of actually living with His disciples for over three years. Although the conditions of these examples are rare, they detail points that will help us define and practice some specifics of healthy discipleship.

How Did Paul Disciple Timothy? The Basics of Discipleship

Who was Simon Peter, the disciple of Jesus? This teaching will look at Peter's life when he was one of Jesus' disciples, followed by his life between the resurrection and ascension of Jesus. Then, when the day of Pentecost comes, Holy Spirit comes on Peter with boldness, gifts and guidance and Peter is transformed! The Simon of the Gospels hardly resembles Peter of the book of Acts! What a difference Holy Spirit made in Peter's life ~ and He can make that same kind of difference in yours!

It is rooted in Father God's design for us to set aside time every week for celebrating life, for rest, and for restoring that which has been depleted in our lives. Jesus practiced regular rhythms of work and rest; He paced Himself according to God's direction. Learning to rest in a performance-oriented culture will require us to ask ourselves some challenging questions. But realizing what depletes us and what restores us - and then making some practical changes in our lifestyles - will help us receive God's gift of rest!

Keeping Your Heart At Peace

These Scripture recordings were produced to help us learn to pray in agreement with what God thinks and says by using His own words. We often default to prayers saturated with our opinions or emotions; but God has an opinion, too! Agreement with His Truth is powerful and will focus our prayers.

Word CD recordings combine 45 to 60 minutes of continuous-play, Spirit-led music and the reading of Scripture, with each recording focusing on a different topic. Scriptures are read every 30-45, and then as the music continues, time is given to pray, memorize, sing, write about, sketch, or meditate on the Scripture just read. These recordings can also be used in conjunction with topical studies or played as a background, helping to keep the Word of God in your heart and mind.

Instrumental recordings are great for background music as you pray, or for simply providing a peaceful atmosphere. Some people enjoy creating their own melodies and lyrics as they listen to the music. There is no scripture reading on the Instrumental recordings.

All downloads are free. However, donations to Get the Word Out! will enable us to record and duplicate more CDs to give away in developing nations as they are available in several languages (with more being recorded all the time!). There is no suggested donation amount; please ask God how much to contribute so we can give these Word CDs to our brothers and sisters around the world.
