Mastermix 6 Mixshow 305: DJ Carlos Valderrama

Lost mix tapes from early 1980's. This mix of mine was featured and played on Chicago's WGCI DJ Mix Show. Some of these songs are the foundation of Chicago's House Music.

Pre House Classics Mix by Carlos Valderrama

In 1978 at the early age of 16 Carlos began spinning records at local house parties events and cofounded Disc Jockey Service Company called Ultimate Sound Productions. By 1980 Carlos was known and widely recognized for his influential skills on the turntables after participating in one of Chicago’s largest DJ Competitions.  There after Carlos began performing at some of Chicago’s major festivals and elite nightclubs.  In the mid 1980’s the Chicago House Music began to develop it’s unique sound and Carlos became a HOUSEHOLD name and was recruited as a “Hot Mixer” known as “Cookin Carlos Vaderrama for Chicago’s WBMX 102.7 FM and WGCI 107.5 urban radio stations.  To date these mixes can still be found at Chicago’s DJ stores.
