I was learning Arabic on Duolingo & it taught me the word Dabaka ( دَبَكَ )

This genre is not just great it's heavenly, what you guys and other bands like 47 soul are creating is not just a new musical genre, it's what our generation needs, the traditional arabic music and old shar'y tarab mixed with edm and other genres just hits hard, i'm only a teen but i feel like this type of music is really improtant for us because we lack such vibes in our lives, love from aleppo

Rissala min Qalandia (letter from Qalandia)

the samples used on this track are based on a recording of the late arab poet Nizar Qabbani (1923-1998) reading his famous piece "Rissala min taht il ma" (Letter from under water). Nizar kabbani one of the greatest contemporary poets in the arab world was also known as the women's poet, the poet of love and the homeland poet. Qalandia is an israeli Checkpoint halfway between Ramallah and Jerusalem.

DABAKA is a musical project that brings together Lebanese and Syrian artists around an audio-visual performance. 
 
Revisiting the folkloric dabkeh, a dance and musical practice emerging from the Levantine’s common heritage, the artists joined their passion and talent to reclaim its place within a contemporary context.
 
The project hopes to encourage more dialogue between artists on the cultural scene and to foster a greater understanding of the unique role art can play in bringing people together.
