Never work for happiness or for comfort. You are never going to have it. Always work happily. If you are not happy with your work, change it, or else, you will waste away your life trying to get happiness out of your work.

An incarnation of Lord Śiva, Dakṣiṇāmūrti is considered the divine and ultimate Guru. Śiva as Dakṣiṇāmurti is presented as the source of all knowledge. The vigraha (form) is visualised and presented as the source of all knowledge. Īśvara appears in the form of a teacher. This is the special feature of this stotram.

In this adoration, the devā-s offer salutations again and again, to the Devī who is in all beings as consciousness, intelligence, sleep, hunger, contemplation, power, forgiveness, modesty, peace, commitment, good fortune, compassion, contentment, error etc. At the end of this hymn, we realise Devī is literally our life.

Also known as the Śrī Rudram, this hymn is like an upaniṣad revealing the truth of the jīva, the individual, jagat, the world, and Iśvara. The words in the hymn with their simple meaning become a means for gaining eligibility for knowledge. This hymn is considered very efficacious in neutralising the result of wrong actions.
