Once upon a time, in the heart of a dark valley on a feared planet, there was a strange being named Rana. She came from a distant cosmic land to find the Zacatechichi, a plant with strong magical properties and therefore very precious and valuable.

According to the elders of her village, the perilous journey to find this peculiar plant began in the hollows of the Dimrost Valley. There she was, drifting along the bottomless river. Only a few aquatic insects and odd reptiles crossed her path. The air was crisp, the atmosphere aqueous and the road sinuous.

The beginning of her journey was gripping like vines around her, intertwined in a mysterious world : there was no turning back.

Morning diary entry. 12.10.2025. Bali.

I couldn’t sleep.
The tooth kept pulsing — like a small, insane drum inside my jaw.
At 4:37 a.m. I gave up, sat down, and opened the machine.
Every throb became a beat. Every sting a rhythm.
The sound of the metal in my mouth turned into the bassline.
I recorded the pain before it left me —
and when the track was done, it felt like the tooth had pulled itself out.
Now it’s quiet. Too quiet.

Nahschemet has been DJing since about 2003. While initially playing and mixing Italo Dance, Hardstyle, Hardcore Techno, Drum’n’Bass and Tekno for a few years respectively, he fell in love with psychedelic Goa Trance in 2007, being mesmerized among others by the Distance to Goa and Destination Goa albums and tracks like Shakta’s Lepton Head (Deedrah RX). Simultaneously developing a passion for Psychedelic rock, Stoner rock, World music, Deep House and Oriental sounds like Turkish village music and saz-compositions, his sets at times also feature influences of that genres. In recent years – parallel to the ever-increasing enthusiasm with Goa Trance particularly from the 1990s – Forest, Darkpsy, Hi-tech and Suomi tracks also became included in his repertoire to an increasing extent. As one of the founding members of the BASST!-society (based in Vienna, Austria), Nahschemet is contributing to the organization of that society’s annual general assembly, the BASST-festival in Leutschach, Southern Styria (next edition: 21.-23.8.2026 – see basst.org - link below). Apart from his engagement with DJing, he is also active as an artist, being inspired among other things by nature and the infinite landscapes of music (on that point, see metagallerie.at - link below).
