Known for his 13-minute remixes, ambient SoundCloud sleep aids, and globally-hyperconscious DJ sets, Australian wizard DREEMS joins life partner Von Party on the title track, smelting 303, dessert drones and bells in his Australian wizard’s cauldron. 

“Kamp Krusty,” meanwhile, is a collaboration with Lithuanian-Israeli nomad DJ OI that features fat brown-snake bass line, the ambulant percussion and bleeps scatter over the groove. Dope. Bats. Oi !

Things get deeper on “That Acid From Nimbim,” as “random hippie friend” Luka provides a vocal that channels Francis Bebey via the Northern NSW coast. 

“Bilbio Bush Baby” sees DREEMS re-team with Jagma - a pairing not seen since the very first Multi Culti release - for a mate-a-thon that races past the horizon and directly into the Sydney sunset. 

Finally, Argentinean excursionist LUM offers a tranquil, early-morning rework of “Kamp Krusty” that envisions a possible future beyond the fiery culmination of the aforementioned break-of-dawn mate-a-thon.

A new release from Playground Records is here. This time, a compact Ep packed with organic sounds and mystical vibes from the Austrian duo Hanzo & Yaman, delivering 3 originals accompanied by 2 classy remixes by Marc Piñol and Cornelius Doctor. 
 
'Apinya Colada' is the track which gives its name to this reference and is which opens it. Mysterious pads alongside groovy percussions introduce us to a deep bassline. Some voices come from far away. The mantra begins. Weird sounds plays togethers and gives to the track a sensation of fresh air. A sad guitar say goodbye in the middle of the trance. Now we're in peace. 
 
'Francisco' is the rebel cousin of this family. A naughty guy who needs to take your attention all the time. He never comes even though you call him all the time. He loves the rough percussions. The brazen Francisco invites us to the dance. You can never say him no. 
 
The original package ends with 'The Path'. A magic end for this fantastic journey. Whispers and laughs are crossed by an incisive guitar. They're fighting each others trying to convince us, some claims us to stay there and other ones beg us to stay away. The confusion becomes diffuse when you give yourself to dance. 
 
Cornelius Doctor makes his appearance to join to 'Francisco's ranks and turn him to the dark side. A strong bassline guides us to an acid drop. The snare beats hard. The shadows are arrived. They ready to kill the dancefloor. 
 
The great Marc Piñol closes this release bringing peace and flow with his remix of 'The Path'. Whistling melodies that melt into flying pads. The groove goes on, clapping and pumping strange sounds. An elegantly minimalist healing trance.

Collectively known as Radial Gaze, St.Petersburg stalwart Andrey of Skotny Dvor club notoriety and his brother Stas bring together the former’s dance floor moves knowledge with the latter’s background in sound design and musical direction. Having already released on recognized labels Eskimo, Calypso, Hard Fist and Belly Dance Services, the duo offer up a six piece track release consisting of two originals and enlisting a slew of talents for remix duties. Exceptional synthesis of both classic and new material - this is the brothers’ go to, as is evident on both 'Fugu Taste' and ,Nido', with an added layer of mixing musical geography with tempo acrobatics. 
Our choice was remix by Salon des Amateurs resident Toulouse Low Trax who take 'Fugu Taste', reimagining it into a full on new wave exploration accenting its eerie murmurations and ominous synths.

Free Shelter invites the Berlin based dj and producer @galkdn for the fifth instalment of the guest mix series on Free Shelter Radio on IDA Radio.

Originating from Israel, now Berlin based Gal Kadan blends together European electronics with the sounds of the Middle East and beyond. Kadan's music is a representation of his homeland - a consistent tension between future and past, love and war, east and west. 

His latest project is The Awesome Orientalists From Europe (@aofe) which is an edit series concentrating on music and politics. All profits from the project are donated to NGOs that fight Islamophobia, antisemitism and racism in Europe. The new edit release Vol.3 saw our own Aaron Maple creating three cracking edits which are now available on Bandcamp (link below)

Free Shelter Invites #5: Gal Kadan 🏳️

Three years in the making only to be held up almost another year due to COVID and now finally seeing the light of day, is this brooding monster of a record by Brussels based Strapontin, aka multi-disciplinary artist Patrick Belmont.

Clocking in at over 35-minutes the record is almost album length and spans a multitude of depths and moods with elements of techno, new wave, rock 'n' roll, house and tribal…...all glued together with a uniquely sleazy atmosphere.

Add to this a heads-down-no-nonsense darkroom beast of a remix by techno maestro Sascha Funke and the package is complete.

Strapontin provides us with some insight:
“It started with a desire to move away a bit from my 'dancefloor' side and go into more undefined fields, I wanted to work with blurry sensations that I can't understand. I like mixed feelings. Dramatex 300 is made of that ambivalent mood. The voice is saying 'I'm feeling empty' and 'I'm feeling healthy' at the same time. I like that paradox. Eunuque is a song but is also a character I will develop in a short movie (which will act as the 'music video' of the song). The Eunuque is a character full of anger yet he doesn't want to fight nor has he a target to aim at. A restrained aggressivity is boiling inside him/it that has no opportunity to escape from the body and gain release. The song is the fever he feels from these inner battles. I think Le Bain d'Huile and Anti-sceptical have the same slow and angry feeling. I'm proud of these tracks because they are a bit mysterious to me and it feels like they controlled me more than I controlled them.”
