In this installment of Sound Advice, we talk to German producer Jan Blomqvist, who makes deep house with a melancholic pop sensibility. In this exclusive interview, the Berlin-based artist shares the story of how he journeyed from rock to electronic music, and recalls the influence of the 2000s Berlin club scene on his sound. He also talks about finding his style, blending original vocals and field recordings in a genre where samples and machine sounds dominate, the themes of his latest album ‘Mute,’ and how SoundCloud features like track comments, timestamps and replace audio help him collaborate with other artists.

Escape - Episode 6

I made this series to get us all through Mercury Retrograde. The entire mix has been tuned to 432hz to bring the music into a natural vibration and assist in easing any frustrations you may currently be having. I posted on my Instagram story asking for Demo Submissions last week and was truly blown away by some of the talented work that I received.
