Originally hailing from Japan, Akira Knightley is a London-based Drum and Bass DJ specialising in the deeper, more leftfield sides of the genre. Fast-forwarding through his squat raving as a teen in London and via an immersive stint living in Bristol as a student, he is now a resident of the esteemed Community-led Subtle Radio, as well as for SDC, a grassroots forest rave collective based in West London.

With a knack for unearthing ‘hidden gem' type tunes and a love for the more niche corners of the genre (such as the Autonomic Movement), his signature style combines ethereal melodies, engaging drumwork and gritty low-end bass weight to devastating effect. This mix is a Lo-fi, textured affair; weaving a journey through minimal dnb, jungle and halftime with both bite and elegance towards a haunting conclusion.
