On the request of the Undersync Publishing agency, KIXTAPE was created by the founders of Blue Sun (Hanussen and Kozmo D) in close collaboration with the film's composer (Csaba Kalotás). The 48-minute sound collage rebuilds the music and story of the award-winning Hungarian documentary KIX (Dávid Mikulán, Bálint Révész).
 
Made in 4 sessions, KIXTAPE breaks away from the established traditions of making mixes and compiling soundtracks. Using a selection of the film's music, original soundtracks, dialogue snippets and effects, the creators retell the coming of age story of a street urchin (later public enemy) in a nonlinear way - while giving the scores the (sound)space and opportunity to show their true depths the viewer may not have the opportunity to hear while watching the film.
 
Apart from Csaba Kalotás only the tracks of Gosheven and Es (Sami Sänpäkkilä) were used in the final mix. The film also features other songs performed by Ghosty, Pogány Induló, Nemazalány, LILG and Gyuris, as well as a composition by Leo Délibes.
 
KIXTAPE will be released in a limited edition of 50 cassettes, available only at the launch and on bandcamp.
