The wait is over - PB4 is here. Perhaps one of the most revered album series in drum & bass is back with a vengeance, and some are saying it maybe the best yet. 

It’s hard to believe this is the debut track by Calibre on Metalheadz, and it’s already a firm dancefloor favourite thanks to its skipping drums and variants in bass. The drums have the unmistakeable Calibre air to them, the air that grabs you by the hips and demands you move and paired with the aforementioned screwface bass, it really is a foregone conclusion that you're going to move.

Fresh Kutt was for an era, THE premier Jump Up Drum & Bass label of the 90s. With hits such as Trick of Technology, Delikutt Beats, So Damn Tuff & many other anthems, it lead to remix work including the likes of the world famous Beastie Boys. Since then, DJ Magic from the Prisoners of Technology has had releases on Dance Concept & Joker Records amongst many others. His first DC appearance came on the Stevie Hyper D album – The Legend (2004), the same year as the original single, his colab with Benny V, End Game was released.

Benny V has had one of the busiest years in his career with several of his tracks getting the remix treatment from the likes of Serial Killaz, Blame, Modified Motion & Nicky Blackmarket. He has teamed up with Voltage on this occasion to rework his original track from 2004 giving it a 2015 re-lick. Hot on the heels of Oldskool Box Reopened & the Stevie Hyper D – Generation Hyper album, End Game gets brought out of the archives and into the light.

Voltage is undoubtedly one of the most exciting acts to have emerged in Drum & Bass in recent years. With Premier League support for his productions from such a wide range of influential people from across the full spectrum of Drum and Bass including the likes of Andy C, Hype, Friction, Bailey, Hazard, Bryan Gee, Total Science, Benny V, Ray Keith & Randall to name a few. Voltage’s productions under Cabin Fever UK stormed the Drum&BassArena charts for weeks. He worked on the Stevie Hyper D album brought out on Dance Concept under this guise as well as releasing one of the Jump Up tracks of the year last year, Delikutt Beats 2014.

For those of you lucky enough to be at the birth of jungle in the 90’s you’d have undoubtedly come across the legendary Micky Finn who, packed with his arsenal of dubplates, led the charge and paved the way for jungle and drum & bass as we know it today.  

After a brief production hiatus, Micky is back on the scene to lead the way once more.  This time he’s teamed up with Vital Elements, one half of today’s jungle pioneers Serial Killaz, who brings something very different to the table.  

'So Good' certainly has a nod to Micky’s past, with vocals taken from the personally influenced jazz-funk classic 'Don’t Make Me Wait' by the Peach Boys, but let's make this clear; there is nothing else nostalgic about it, 'So Good' is a forward thinking, feel good beast that will be as infectious on the dance floor as it will on radio. With early support from S.P.Y to Logan D, 'So Good' is set to land heavy with the masses. 

On the flip we have 'True Guidance', a rare moment in music where barriers are smashed down and classics are made. It’s clear Micky & Vital Elements went all in on this one. It’s got bounce, balls and enough energy and vibes to rock festivals to sweaty basements. With vocal samples from the 80’s yard classic ‘Country Man’, these two once again show how moving forward with a glance to the past is done properly.
