Listening to Oswald's piece, one sound that stood out to me was the sound of thunder, which made me think of the piece taking place in a big field whilst a storm is going on.  When making my piece, I wanted to try out some very abrasive sounds (at least abrasive compared to what I usually do), and was inspired by the sound of thunder to add in the filtered noisy sample I'd used in the piece to replace a section with guitars and a drum machine that wasn't working. I think this helped a lot, because this little bit created a bridge from the start into the guitar and drums bit.

Single Note Task

Harsh noise for CMC portfolio, this was so fun to make. Big Merzbow influence (particularly Pulse Demon on this one).

Hyper Chainsaw

Little synth jam made from a sample of my voice edited and played in the Ableton Sampler.

Tracks for ambient week: 'Written Postcard' is the "base layer", the first thing I recorded. The other two tracks are permutations of the first, being generated using different techniques from the material of the first.
