Łagodne akustyczne wstawki złamane zostają przez brutalne cierpienie rozdartego serca toczącego morderczy bój z racjonalnym umysłem. Nikotyna oraz kofeina pompują gniew i żal. Szare... niczym deszcz.

The second part of the "Morning Grays" suite. Waking up to a grey reality brings melancholy and pain. Mild acoustic parts are broken by the brutal suffering of a torn heart that fights a murderous battle with a rational mind. Nicotine and caffeine pump up anger and inconsolable sadness. Grey ... like rain.

Szare... Niczym Deszcz

Lampart to heavymetalowa odsłona Selektora. Utwór zainspirowany został muzyką niemieckiego zespołu Gravestone, jednego ze szczególnie cenionych przeze mnie twórców z nurtu nowej fali brytyjskiego heavy metalu. Układ utworu jest typowy dla piosenki, niemniej jednak warunki techniczne oraz wokalne skutecznie zniechęciły mnie do nagrania śpiewu. W zamyśle zwrotki mogłyby być recytowane, zaś refren wykonywany byłby śpiewnym, mocnym wokalem heavymetalowym w stylu Roba Halforda. :)

Lampart is the heavy metal release of the SelektoR. The track was inspired by the German band Gravestone, one of the creators of the new wave of British heavy metal that I particularly like. The tune was intended to be a song, but the technical and vocal conditions effectively discouraged me from recording the vocal parts. The verses were intended to be recited and the chorus had to be sung with heavy metal Rob Halford like vocals. :)

W przepastnym zbiorze niewykorzystanych sampli znalazłem zestaw dźwięków wydobytych niegdyś z twórczości Jarre'a i Kitaro. Jeden z nich po załadowaniu i wciśnięciu kilku klawiszy (dźwięki E D C - D) zrodził taką oto koncepcję. Utwór wykorzystany będzie we wstępie fabularnym projektu Beat Em Up. Klasycznie, do grania w pętli. W tym nagraniu zawarłem dwa powtórzenia.

In my unexplored set of samples taken from Jarre and Kitaro music I found an instrument that allowed me to create another simple concept track. After pressing only few keys (sounds: E D C - D) I got the whole thing. The track is about to be used in prologue to Beat Em Up project. Should be played in loop. In this recording there are two loops included.

Beat Em Up - Prologue

Zarys początku utworu oraz "refrenu" pojawił się w połowie września 2018. Jest to bardzo swobodna aranżacja muzyki towarzyszącej intro do gry Krush Kill 'n Destroy z bodaj 1996 roku. Natomiast to, co następuje po spowolnieniu jest znów swobodną adaptacją fragmentu utworu "Życie Ostre jak Maczeta" Waszki G. ;)  Utwór jak zwykle do gry w pętli, do wykorzystania w projekcie Beat Em Up w jednym z etapów ulicznych, gdzie walczymy w trakcie podróży SKM oraz na peronach kolei podmiejskiej.

Some parts of this track including the beginning and the "refrain" were made up in September 2018. It is a non-literal adaptation of the music included in Krush Kill 'n Destroy (1996) intro scene. The other part after the slower theme in the middle is another non-literal adaptation of Waszka G "Życie Ostre jak Maczeta" song. As usual the track shall be played in loop. Two loops are included in this recording. It will be used in the Beat Em Up Project during the other street phase of the game. This time action takes place on suburb train platforms and on board of Fast Urban Train.

Streetfight 2 (Dangerous Streets)

Utwór towarzyszący etapowi leśnemu Beat Em Up Project. Wydawałoby się, że to chwila oddechu między jednym a drugim etapem ulicznym, ale nie należy ulec złudzeniu wywołanemu powolnym tempem utworu. W lesie czają się śmiertelnie groźni przeciwnicy!

This track goes with the forest stage of Beat Em Up Project. It seems it's time to rest and recover between first and second street stage. One shouldn't be misled of slow pace of the track. There are deadly enemies hiding in the woods!

November Woods (Forest Fight)

Dalsza część OST do Beat Em Up Project.
Po pokonaniu ulicznych bandziorów i mrocznych okropieństw listopadowego lasu, bohater dociera wreszcie do domu studenckiego. Spowity oparami chorobliwej aury akademik jest siedliskiem braku perspektyw, straconych marzeń i moralnej zgnilizny. Ściskając w dłoni stalowy pręt przemierzamy korytarze pełne wypalonych cieni żywych i martwych studentów.

Another Beat Em Up Project track.
After beating up the street thugs and nocturnal monstrosities of the november woods, the hero finally arrives at the student house. The dormitory, shrouded in the vapors of a morbid aura, is a place of no prospects, lost dreams and moral decay. Clutching a steel rod in a hand, the player traverses the corridors full of burned-out shadows of living and dead students.

Utwór otwierający pierwszą sekwencję poziomów Beat Em Up Project krótko po ukończeniu Preludium - etapu wprowadzającego. Akcja rozpoczyna się podczas pozornej drzemki na sali wykładowej. To co jednak miało być drzemką, okazało się być ponownym przebudzeniem.

Opening track for the first stage of Beat Em Up Project, supposed to be played shortly after the introduction stage. Action is being performed in auditory hall during a short nap, that turned out to be another awakening into the real world.

Anger Within - Auditory Fight

Po pokonaniu okropieństw z pogranicza nauki i ezoteryki zamieszkujących zapyziałe laboratoria pierwszego poziomu piwnicznego, bohater znajduje się w miejscu jeszcze straszniejszym. Mroczne i cuchnące rozkładem katakumby wypełnia szelest skradających się obandażowanych mumii, a z sarkofagów dochodzi skrobanie pogrzebanych żywcem grzeszników.

PS. Po zakończeniu tworzenia utworu uznałem, że mógłby się nazywać "Tańcem Mumii". ;)

After overcoming the horrors of science and esoterism inhabiting desolate laboratories of the Upper Basement, the hero appears in an even more terrible place. Filled with darkness and smell of decay, the catacombs echo the rustling of bandaged mummies. The buried sinners scratch the lids of the sarcophagi.

PS. After finishing the track I thought it could be called "The Mummies' Dance". ;)

Katakumba

Utwór jak i cały etap opracowany podczas pobytu w saunie. Umieszczony jako sekret uaktywniający się po wykorzystaniu voucheru do spa, który domyślnie znajdzie się na wyposażeniu postaci, pod warunkiem, że zostanie użyty najpóźniej w Akademiku. Odwiedzając spa nie walczymy z nikim, ale mamy możliwość odtworzenia zdrowia i/lub poprawienia statystyk postaci, aby mieć większe szanse podczas starć w kolejnych etapach.

The track as well as the entire stage was made up during stay in sauna. It's about to be a secret that can be activated using spa voucher initially present in the player's inventory. It only works if used before finishing Dormitory stage. Visiting spa one does not fight with anyone. Quite the contrary, the player is able to retrieve health and/or improve some of the hero's stats in order to gain more chances to beat up more demanding opponents occuring in the further stages.

Spa Bonus Stage

Utwór ten wraz z Exitus kończy ścieżkę dźwiękową Beat Em Up Project. Tym razem jednak wieszczy definitywnie negatywne zakończenie. Dusza bohatera ostatecznie odspaja się od martwego ciała, które pozostaje w świecie fizycznym, podczas gdy dusza skazana jest na wieczną wędrówkę na granicy rozmywających się rzeczywistości.

This song along with Exitus concludes the soundtrack Beat Em Up Project. This time, however, it definitely brings a negative ending. The hero's soul ultimately separates from the dead body that remains in the physical world, while the soul is left for an eternal journey on the edge of the ghastly reality.

Tym razem dłuższy utwór do Beat Em Up Project. Wraz z bohaterem opuszczamy salę wykładową i zmierzamy mrocznymi uniwersyteckimi korytarzami w stronę Centrum Obliczeniowego. Inaczej niż zwykle, korytarzami ściele się namacalna ciemność, a ich układ staje się chaotyczny i nieprzewidywalny. Za każdym rogiem czai się zło.

This time I present a longer song for Beat Em Up Project. We leave the auditory hall and go along the dark university corridors towards the Computing Center. Unlike usual, the corridors are covered with dense darkness. Its layout becomes chaotic and unpredictable. Evil lurks around every corner.

Tym razem nieco inny utwór towarzyszący zmaganiom na przedostatnim poziomie Beat Em Up Project. Przemierzając katakumby coraz bardziej tracimy kontakt z tym co stanowi fizyczną rzeczywistość i docieramy do zawieszonego w czasie i przestrzeni nazistowskiego więzienia wypełnionego cieniami wychudzonych więźniów i emanacją zła dawno umarłych niemieckich strażników i esesmanów.

This time it is a slightly different song accompanying the combat at the penultimate level of Beat Em Up Project. Traveling through the catacombs, we gradually lose contact with physical reality and reach the Nazi prison suspended in time and space, filled with the shadows of emaciated prisoners and the emanation of evil of long-dead German guards and SS-men.

Jeden z utworów pochodzących jeszcze z 2013 roku. :) Efekt eksperymentów z nakładaniem linii wokalnej do muzyki nagranej bezpośrednio z emulatora Amigi. Proszę o wybaczenie za "c" w wyrazie "celtic". Nie wiedziałem jeszcze wtedy, że w tym przypadku czyta się jako "k". ;)

One of the songs from 2013. :) The effect of experiments with applying a vocal line to music recorded directly from the Amiga emulator. I apologise for incorrect pronunciation of the word "celitc". I didn't know back then that it should sound rather like "keltik". ;)

Utwór powstał dzięki inspiracji ścieżką dźwiękową do gry Undertale, której autorem jest Toby Fox.

Krótkie intro - muzyczna wizja snu - wprowadza nas do typowego jesienno-zimowego poranka, w którym dominują mrok i wszelkie odcienie szarości. Kompozycję można traktować jako spójną, wyodrębnioną całość lub - niewykluczone - początek albumu koncepcyjnego utrzymanego w duchu doom metalu.

A short intro - a musical vision of sleep - is an introduction to a typical autumn/winter morning dominated by darkness and all shades of gray. The composition can be treated as a coherent, separate track or - possibly - the beginning of a concept album in the spirit of atmospheric doom metal.
