At the time of the birth of jazz, the role of the guitar was primarily as a rhythm instrument. I enjoyed this recording while remembering the lives of the great guitar players of the time, wondering what it would be like if we translated that atmosphere into a modern style. The D7 and G7 positions I recommend are in the link below.
 I would like you to listen to this track and get an idea of the sound of the "D7 and G7" chords added to the original sound source. Also, learn how to trace the scale when using the "D7 and G7" chords.
First of all, "D7" = "D", so in the Western musical scale, Bm/D pentatonic comes to mind as a scale that can be used there. .
And one more thing: using "D7" directly leads to the use of the blues scale. When the chord is "D7", it is natural to try playing Dm/F pentatonic.
